My husband, [name]Daniel[/name], wants to name our son [name]Daniel[/name] [name]Charles[/name] after his grandfather. The name is a bit common for my taste and doesn’t really flow with our other children. We also already have several [name]Daniels[/name] and Charlies in the family. Our other children (we have four) are [name]Orion[/name] [name]Johnathan[/name], [name]Sage[/name] Elysium, Cerridwen [name]Willow[/name], and [name]Rowan[/name] [name]Audric[/name]. We have a Mc last name (Irish). Does anyone have any other suggestions or variations for [name]Daniel[/name] [name]Charles[/name]?
Ooh that’s tough. I think a [name]Daniel[/name] would feel different from his brothers and sister if he was given such a common name compared to the rest of them. I’d use [name]Daniel[/name] or [name]Charles[/name] as a middle and come up with something you both can agree on for the first name.
Thoughts:
[name]Drake[/name] or [name]Draco[/name] [name]Charles[/name]
[name]Apollo[/name] [name]Daniel[/name]
[name]August[/name] [name]Daniel[/name]
[name]Sirius[/name] [name]Charles[/name]
[name]Solomon[/name] [name]Daniel[/name]
[name]Conan[/name] [name]Daniel[/name]
[name]Zephyr[/name] [name]Charles[/name] or [name]Daniel[/name]
[name]Grover[/name] [name]Daniel[/name]
[name]Hawthorne[/name] [name]Charles[/name]
[name]Phoenix[/name] [name]Daniel[/name]
[name]Hope[/name] this helps!
I’d make both [name]Daniel[/name] and [name]Charles[/name] middle names–they’re great!
What about…
[name]Dan[/name] Charelston
[name]Xavier[/name] [name]Charles[/name]
Quinitin (means fifth) [name]Hunter[/name]
Augustan ([name]Gus[/name]) [name]Daniel[/name]
[name]Patrick[/name] [name]Daniel[/name]
[name]Franklin[/name] [name]Charles[/name]
[name]Jeremiah[/name] [name]Scott[/name]
I think if we find a first name that might lend well to the double middle names that might work. Would probably have to be at least two syllables though.
e.g. _________ [name]Daniel[/name] [name]Charles[/name] [name]McCarthy[/name]
We’ve been throwing around [name]Finn[/name] and [name]Oisin[/name] (O-[name]Sheen[/name]) but those don’t go with D.C. very well.
[name]Egan[/name] (ee-gan) [name]Daniel[/name] [name]Charles[/name]
[name]Caledon[/name] ([name]Cal[/name]-luh-din) [name]Daniel[/name] [name]Charles[/name] (or flipped around)
[name]Caedmon[/name] [name]Daniel[/name] [name]Charles[/name]
[name]Roman[/name] [name]Daniel[/name] [name]Charles[/name] (probably too close to [name]Rowan[/name])
[name]Felix[/name] [name]Daniel[/name] [name]Charles[/name]
[name]Jeremiah[/name] [name]Daniel[/name] [name]Charles[/name]
[name]Maxwell[/name]/[name]Maximilian[/name] [name]Daniel[/name] [name]Charles[/name]
[name]Zachariah[/name] [name]Daniel[/name] [name]Charles[/name]
You could look up international variations of [name]Daniel[/name] or [name]Charles[/name] on this site. I believe it’s on the bottom of the entry after you do a Super Search. Another option would be doing doing also a Super Search for part of the name like [name]Dan[/name] or [name]Carl[/name]. It could you some other ideas.
[name]Dashiell[/name] combines a lot of sounds and letters from [name]Daniel[/name] and [name]Charles[/name] both, and would fit in well with the set.
What about [name]Damon[/name] [name]Charles[/name]? I think it works with his siblings’ names nicely as it isn’t extremely familiar but it has a recognizable way about it
[name]Ozias[/name] D.C.
[name]Finnegan[/name] D.c.
[name]Orion[/name] D.C.
[name]Colman[/name] D.C.
[name]Odin[/name] D.C.
My first thought was [name]Dante[/name] as the first name, instead of [name]Daniel[/name]. It’s got the same [name]Dan[/name]- start (although is pronounced more like [name]Don[/name]-tay) but is much more uncommon than [name]Daniel[/name], which makes it fit in better with his siblings.
[name]How[/name] about [name]Dante[/name] [name]Carl[/name] Mc-? [name]Carl[/name] being a variant of [name]Charles[/name].
The only variation I have heard of [name]Daniel[/name] is [name]Danko[/name].
[name]Carlos[/name] and [name]Charlton[/name] are variation of [name]Charles[/name].
I have thought about using [name]Nathaniel[/name] as a similar name to my brother [name]Daniel[/name]. They have the same ending.
Other names like this are [name]Cassiel[/name]/Castiel, [name]Ezekiel[/name], [name]Gabriel[/name], Gadriel, Othniel, [name]Uriel[/name]/[name]Oriel[/name]/[name]Auriel[/name], Remiel, Ananiel, Araciel, Azaziel.
I am not religious, but most of the names I listed are names found in the Book of [name]Daniel[/name] and the Book of [name]Enoch[/name]. The are archangels.
Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. We are the opposite of religious, but he wants to use the name still. I was especially surprised to hear someone suggest [name]Orion[/name], since I have a son named [name]Orion[/name] already and it’s a pretty uncommon name. Keep the suggestions coming, please! Nothing we can agree upon yet.
bumpity baby bump.
