We are expecting our second child and I’m dreading the girl name discussion with my husband. He loves the name [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and cannot let any other girl names into his heart. I love [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] but simply do not like [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] as a first name. I’m looking for names with a similar sound/style as [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] (harder consonants is what he likes). Similar meanings (like [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]) are less appealing to him than finding a similar sound, but worth considering.
[name_u]Morgan[/name_u]? [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f]? Check out [name_m]German[/name_m] names. A lot of them have hard sounds. I hate [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], too, so I get it ;). Is it classic names that he really likes or just the hard sounds?
I really like [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. It softens up the name and has the meaning of “daisy” (in [name_m]French[/name_m]) as well as “pearl”.
Thanks for the suggestions! He likes both classic names and hard sounds (especially for girls, because our son’s name is [name_m]Luke[/name_m] which doesn’t seem like such a hard sound to me).
