Two of my favorite girls names are [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f] and [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]. Unfortunately we already have close family members with these names and we do not want to double up by naming a future daughter of ours the same name.
I was hoping for name recommendations that have the same classic and feminine feel as these names but aren’t just variations of them. I’m also hoping for name suggestions that are slightly less common than these ones. I’m not a big fan of super cute names (ie. [name_f]Molly[/name_f] or [name_f]Maddie[/name_f]) or names that are very old fashioned ([name_f]Bernadette[/name_f] or [name_f]Delores[/name_f]).
[name_f]Love[/name_f] lots of these ones… of your list here are my favorites…
[name_f]Miriam[/name_f] - I like this one, but I doubt DH will
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] - the Boys name [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] has been on my radar lately, so this is right up my alley
[name_u]Marion[/name_u] - like the classic feel of this, and how it’s farily uncommon
[name_u]Vivian[/name_u] - like the flow of this name a lot, but may be a bit too common for me.
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] - I would consider this for a middle but I’m looking for something a bit more elaborate for a first name
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] - love this, hubby won’t - he will find it to be too “old lady”
Classic and well-used in the past decade, without being old-lady or nicknamey (that’s exactly my style… so this could be tricky!). I’ll do my best…
[name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f]
[name_f]Willa[/name_f]
[name_f]Susannah[/name_f]
[name_f]Aveline[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Annabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Julia[/name_f]
[name_f]Clarissa[/name_f]
[name_f]Joanna[/name_f] or Joannah
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Celia[/name_f]
[name_f]Pollyanna[/name_f]
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f]
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f]
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f] or [name_f]Georgina[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] - feminine without frilly, just gorgeous
[name_f]Aveline[/name_f] - like this too, this name was on my radar a while back but I sort of forgot about it
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f] - [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] this name. This to me is really the same feel as [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] - I’m not in love with one syllable names, I like this one ok though…
Thanks for your reply! Our family member actually goes by [name_f]Evie[/name_f], so the [name_f]Evie[/name_f] double name is a no go for us I do love the name [name_f]Mae[/name_f] though since it was one of my grandmother’s middle names.
I like the feel of your other name suggestions but I was hoping to find names that were actually less common than [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f] and [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you have any ideas for ones that are uncommon classics?? Oh and my sister’s name is actually [name_f]Leah[/name_f]!
