I’m far far off from having kids, like light years. But, I’ve kind of fallen in love with this name. Is it too weird?
The [name_f]Althea[/name_f] is kind of like [name_f]Anthea[/name_f] but I replaced the N with an L.
So?

Hmm, it’s an interesting choice. I think I like [name_f]Athena[/name_f] [name_m]Merrick[/name_m] better. [name_f]Althea[/name_f] [name_m]Merrick[/name_m] isn’t bad but [name_f]Althea[/name_f] doesn’t roll of the tongue and I trip up a bit when I say it out loud. It just feels and sounds a bit odd, the “al” makes it seem a little choked up when said. I do like the nn [name_f]Thea[/name_f]! [name_f]Elthia[/name_f] also is a variation and is a little easier to say out loud and I think visually won’t be confused with as many other names. [name_m]Merrick[/name_m] is an interesting middle, not a suggestion I’ve seen often and I quite like it.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Althea[/name_f] more than [name_f]Athena[/name_f]. [name_f]Althea[/name_f] is lovely. [name_m]Merrick[/name_m] is interesting, but bit masculine.
I like [name_f]Althea[/name_f], although it is a bit awkward to say. [name_f]Althea[/name_f] [name_m]Merrick[/name_m] is a nice combo though!
I love the name [name_f]Althea[/name_f]. I would use it with the nickname [name_f]Thea[/name_f].
I like it! It has nice flow. [name_f]Althea[/name_f] is a little cumbersome and I’d have to train myself to say it smoothly, I think it’s that “Alth” part that’s tricky. Also like the suggestion of [name_f]Athena[/name_f] which, come to think of it, [name_f]Thea[/name_f] as a nickname would totally work! I enjoy [name_f]Thea[/name_f] names in general though. [name_m]Merrick[/name_m] is masculine but in the middle spot I think there’s more leeway. I would also like to suggest Merit / Meritt (favorite virtue name that a little less definitive than most) and [name_f]Maris[/name_f] or [name_f]Marin[/name_f] as other similar alternatives.
I love it! [name_f]Althea[/name_f] actually feels more familiar than [name_f]Anthea[/name_f] to me (though I like them both very much), and there’s something about the combination [name_f]Althea[/name_f] [name_m]Merrick[/name_m] that I really like. They balance each other interestingly.
Metric is super masculine. Althea is pretty, though. I think Althea Merrit would work better.
