Always someone that knows someone etc

Help!
[name]Baby[/name] number two also dd2. Due in like 3-4weeks. First time once we decided we were set we didn’t waiver, love our daughters name and what it means to us. Apparently very popular and common in USA, not so much here in australia. [name]Taylor[/name] it’s my great grandparents maiden name.
So feeling pressure with second name and really struggling. I don’t know what it is but someone knows someone, or the guy tat works daughter has that name etc it’s never ending.
Now we would like something Irish. Husband very keen (me not so much) for middle name to be [name]Kim[/name] after my middle name.
Anyway we just decided a name we like to consider is [name]Kaley[/name] (again I hear very popular I. USA not so much here).
[name]Kaley[/name] [name]Kim[/name] pretty cute - check, Irish - check, goes well with surname and as a sibset I think [name]Taylor[/name] and [name]Kaley[/name] work…
Problem my cousin had a baby boy in the last ten days “kale”.
Arrgghh does this mean it’s out?
They do live in nz we aren’t overly close or spend a lot of time together. Although since we have both been pregnant we have been making more effort.
Anyway opinions please yes, no or still a maybe for this to be in the running?
Starting to get a bit freaked about no real possibilities we also had
[name]Caitlin[/name]
[name]Madeleine[/name]
[name]Paige[/name]
[name]Bree[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name]
[name]Shea[/name] (pronounced shay)
But these all for reason or another are still names we like but probably can’t or won’t use none we [name]LOVE[/name]

I live in [name]Canada[/name], and [name]Kaley[/name] and names that are similar are really popular to the point that they are annoying. I also didn’t realize that [name]Kaley[/name] was Irish, are you sure about that? The problem with [name]Kaley[/name] is that it can be a hard name to grow into. It is cute on a little girl, but on a grown women?

From your list I much much much prefer [name]Caitlin[/name], [name]Bree[/name] and [name]Shea[/name]!

You could probably still get a way with [name]Kaley[/name] even considering the issues with your cousin! I think it would be fine.

I think [name]Caitlin[/name] [name]Bree[/name] and [name]Ruby[/name] [name]Shea[/name] are both gorgeous combos from your list!

I don’t think [name]Kaley[/name] is necessarily off limits, I’d just give your cousin a heads up that great minds think alike and you’d planned on naming your daughter [name]Kaley[/name]. I do however like some of your other choices better.

Other thoughts:
[name]Casey[/name] ([name]Casey[/name] [name]Kim[/name]?)
[name]Piper[/name]
[name]Kelsey[/name]
[name]Kenley[/name]
[name]Keeley[/name]
[name]Molly[/name] ([name]LOVE[/name] [name]Molly[/name] [name]Bree[/name])

[name]Do[/name] you like [name]Maeve[/name]? That would check the Irish box and I think it goes quite well with [name]Taylor[/name]!

If you see your cousin often, I would stay away from [name]Kaley[/name]. Also, I’m pretty sure it is NOT Irish, and for me, I don’t like the alliteration of [name]Kaley[/name] [name]Kim[/name] (likewise with [name]Caitlin[/name] [name]Kim[/name]). [name]Just[/name] [name]Kim[/name] feels a little incomplete in the middle to me - why not try [name]Kimberly[/name], which could still honor your middle name but feels a little more “full”?

From your list, I like [name]Ruby[/name], [name]Shea[/name], and [name]Madeleine[/name] the best. Are you aware, though, that [name]Ruby[/name], [name]Madeleine[/name], and [name]Paige[/name] are not actually Irish names?

I think it is a good idea to do an Irish name since [name]Taylor[/name] has a lot of family significance. Some suggestions:
[name]Ailis[/name] (Irish form of [name]Alice[/name])
[name]Aislin[/name] (pronounced like ash-lyn, has the trendy sound like [name]Taylor[/name] but is actually old Irish)
[name]Brenna[/name]
[name]Deirdre[/name]
[name]Ciara[/name] (pronounced [name]KEER[/name]-a; similar to [name]Aislin[/name] for me - goes with [name]Taylor[/name] very well)
[name]Erin[/name]
[name]Kathleen[/name] (this is quite similar to [name]Kaley[/name] and [name]Caitlin[/name], and I still don’t like it with [name]Kim[/name], but if you do that’s what matters)
[name]Maeve[/name] (doesn’t really seem like your style, but it’s one of my favorite Irish names)
[name]Moira[/name]
[name]Shannon[/name]

I would recommend looking at Nameberry’s list of Irish names or going on Behind the Name to make sure the name you go with is actually Irish. You really have lots of great options! Good luck!

[name]Kaley[/name] is an anglicized version of Caollaidhe

I don’t find [name]Kaley[/name] [name]Kim[/name] cute. It’s cutesy & kiddie, which isn’t so great beyond the age of 10. I’d go with a different mn

[name]Bree[/name] and [name]Caitlin[/name] are nice (again not with [name]Kim[/name])
[name]Brea[/name] “bray-ah”
[name]Keeva[/name]
[name]Keely[/name]/[name]Keeley[/name]

I like:
[name]Taylor[/name] & [name]Caitlin[/name] [name]Ruby[/name]
[name]Taylor[/name] & [name]Madeline[/name] [name]Paige[/name]

What about [name]Carly[/name]?
[name]Taylor[/name] & [name]Carly[/name] sounds cute

Or else:
[name]Taylor[/name] & [name]Hailey[/name]
[name]Taylor[/name] & [name]Payton[/name]
[name]Taylor[/name] & [name]Devin[/name]
[name]Taylor[/name] & [name]Lucy[/name]

[name]Hi[/name] nb’s
Thanks for the help so far. Il run some of those past dh and see how I go. Yes I know a lot on the list that we have thought about aren’t Irish but there were other things of significance the initial p and initial b after my late father whom I adore and love, we lost him at 49 I was 23. But again struggle with names starting with these letters.
[name]Shea[/name] because other great grandparents were o’shea but dh doesn’t like says it’s for a boy and a collegue who I sit right beside just had a dd shay.
I don’t even like [name]Kim[/name]! But it’s my middle name. He’s trying to push it!
My first name is [name]Alisa[/name] pronounced A [name]Lee[/name] sa. I have never met one and it was picked from a name book and initials before marriage a and b had significance. I have spent my life pronouncing and spelling it for most people so I’m not so sure, dh likes it as middle as well.
So there’s a little more background. You’ve really given me a couple to consider and I’m really like a say struggling. We are on similar paths I think because I used to love [name]Payton[/name] and it’s Irish starts with a p tick tick my sister used it for her dd 22mnths ago but that fine I hadn’t fell pregnant with one let alone two yet! She suits it so much and we all love it on her.

I would ask my cousin about it. Tell her that you’d had the name picked out and loved it when you found out the name she used.
If you don’t see each other often I doubt it will be a big problem.

If you absolutely must go with something else, I like [name]Bree[/name] the best from your list.

I don’t necessarily think that [name]Kaley[/name] is out, the boy’s name is [name]Kale[/name], so you can still use it.
If it was a little girl with the exact name, then that would be an issue.
Of the others on your list I prefer, [name]Caitlin[/name], [name]Bree[/name], and [name]Shea[/name].

Good luck on your decision!

I actually think [name]Taylor[/name] & [name]Kaley[/name] sound too similar. The middle part of both names is exactly the same (ALE sound) and I bet if you called out one name, the other one would come running.

[name]Alisa[/name] is very pretty. It’s very sweet that your husband wants to honor you in your daughter’s name. I like it more than [name]Kim[/name] and would move it to the middle. If you’re looking for initials P/B and something Irish:

[name]Bridget[/name]! ([name]Bridget[/name] [name]Alisa[/name] sounds great)
[name]Brianne[/name] ([name]Brianne[/name] [name]Alisa[/name] / [name]Brianna[/name] [name]Kimberly[/name])
[name]Phelan[/name] [name]Alisa[/name] ([name]Phelan[/name] is an Irish surname)
[name]Patricia[/name] ([name]Patricia[/name] [name]Kim[/name], nn [name]Patsy[/name] / [name]Tricia[/name])

Not Irish, but cute:

[name]Paige[/name] [name]Alisa[/name]
[name]Penelope[/name] ([name]Penelope[/name] [name]Alise[/name])
Peryn (female form of [name]Peter[/name]) (Peryn [name]Alisa[/name])
[name]Peri[/name] (Hebrew name meaning ‘girl from the mountains / fairy’) ([name]Peri[/name] [name]Alisa[/name])
[name]Philippa[/name] nn [name]Pippa[/name] ([name]Philippa[/name] [name]Kimberly[/name])
[name]Pia[/name] (old Italian name meaning “faithful, devout”)
[name]Piper[/name] (very popular-- [name]Piper[/name] [name]Alisa[/name])

[name]Bailey[/name] (unisex like [name]Taylor[/name]; [name]Bailey[/name] [name]Alisa[/name])
[name]Bella[/name] (“beautiful,” [name]Bella[/name] [name]Kimberly[/name])
[name]Bianca[/name] (“white,” glamorous Italian name, [name]Bianca[/name] [name]Kimberly[/name])
[name]Blair[/name] (unisex like [name]Taylor[/name]; [name]Blair[/name] [name]Alisa[/name])
[name]Brielle[/name] (Aussie singer; modern name; possibly short for [name]Gabrielle[/name]. [name]Brielle[/name] [name]Alisa[/name])
[name]Brinley[/name] (English surname meaning ‘brown meadow’; [name]Brinley[/name] [name]Alisa[/name])
[name]Brittany[/name] (place in [name]France[/name], previously popular name, now uncommon; [name]Brittany[/name] [name]Alisa[/name])
[name]Brooke[/name] ([name]Brooke[/name] [name]Alisa[/name])
[name]Bryony[/name] (a plant; [name]Bryony[/name] [name]Alise[/name] / [name]Alisa[/name])
