Thinking of naming my daughter this. What do you think?
I prefer [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] spelling.
Not really liking it. What about:
[name_f]Aleksandra[/name_f]
[name_f]Alyxandra[/name_f]
[name_f]Alixandra[/name_f]
[name_f]Alecsandra[/name_f]
[name_u]Alix[/name_u]
[name_f]Alyx[/name_f]
[name_f]Alexine[/name_f]
Anaxandra
[name_f]Andria[/name_f]
[name_f]Ambrosia[/name_f]
Ambrosine
[name_u]Ember[/name_u]
Its definitely a unique spelling! It could work, but will also more than likely lead up to many mispronunciation and misspells in her future. I personally like evelinrose’s suggestions, which are nicely revamped versions of the name [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f].
I personally love the look of [name_f]Alyxandra[/name_f] or Alyxandrea
Wow, my eyes.
Please. [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t troll on nameberry. This is your only post on the forums and it’s obviously meant to rile people up.
A part of me thought the poster was a troll as well (though I like to err on the side of caution unless it’s overly obvious ergo clearly trying too hard)
Absolutely atrocious.
[name_m]Don[/name_m]'t do it!! [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] looks much more pretty! I think a girl would hate to have that spelling as her name! It seems childish, and it will cause a lot of spelling and pronunciation problems! Sorry!
There’s a lot of suggestions for [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f], and I do like that. But if you like the ee uh sound at the end (and I do) what about [name_f]Alexandria[/name_f]. As the name of the ancient city it has some serious cachet.
What do I think? I think you should go with Ahlykzzahndreeah instead. Go big or go home.
[name_m]Just[/name_m] kidding. I think you’re trolling.
If you’re serious, to me it looks clunky because the x and z are right next to each other. Also, your child might be respelling their name for the rest of their life. If you want to make [name_f]Alexandria[/name_f] more unique, I think a one or two letter difference might make the change not so inconvenient. [name_f]Alyxandria[/name_f] or [name_f]Alexandrea[/name_f] might be easier to handle.
I think the spelling is too way-out-there. Definitely prefer [name_f]Alexandria[/name_f].
I am not trolling. I am seriously panicking as my bub is due in Dec and I still can’t think of a name that I like. I came across Alyxzandrea and would like to know what people think about it. So, I created an account here.
Thank you all for your honest replies. I appreciate it.
the name is cute but the spelling is horrendous, unless you want her name spelled wrong for the rest of her life go with it…
Absolutely not! That spelling will be impossible for everyone including her! I always think just go with the classic… I know someone who named her daughter Ichbel because [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] was too popular, and everyone thought her name was [name_m]Ishmael[/name_m], and it all backfired horribly. [name_f]Alexandria[/name_f] or [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] are beautiful names- good luck!
I thought the same:) Why not [name_f]Alexandria[/name_f]?
No way. Normally I would try to stay positive but I think that with more common name you should stick with the classic spelling or a more feasible variation. I know an [name_f]Alexandria[/name_f] myself as well. Perhaps [name_f]Alexandrea[/name_f] with -ea instead of -ia?
