Am I being too precious?!!

So I know half of you will totally get where I’m coming from, and half of you will think I’m nuts but…

I love the sibset [name_f]Imogen[/name_f], [name_m]Tobias[/name_m], [name_m]Bastian[/name_m] and [name_f]Octavia[/name_f]. Does it seem strange that all the names but one have ‘ia’ in them?

If yes, what alternatives would you suggest?

Thanks!

I generally like this sibset a lot, although [name_m]Tobias[/name_m] and [name_m]Bastian[/name_m] and [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] and [name_m]Bastian[/name_m] seem a little close. The IA combination in the names has a different sound for each so I don’t think that’s a big deal. I’d use [name_m]Leopold[/name_m] or [name_u]Everett[/name_u] from your list instead of [name_m]Bastian[/name_m].

Some other boy names:

[name_f]Imogen[/name_f], [name_m]Tobias[/name_m], [name_f]Octavia[/name_f], and

[name_m]Amaury[/name_m]
Aristo/[name_m]Aristotle[/name_m]
[name_u]August[/name_u]
[name_m]Bartholomew[/name_m]
[name_m]Benedict[/name_m]
[name_m]Casimir[/name_m]
[name_m]Dominic[/name_m]
[name_m]Evander[/name_m]
[name_m]Frederic[/name_m]
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m]
[name_m]Leonard[/name_m]
[name_u]Lionel[/name_u]
[name_m]Lysander[/name_m]
[name_m]Rainier[/name_m]
[name_m]Raphael[/name_m]
[name_m]Vasily[/name_m]
[name_m]Xavier[/name_m]

Honestly, I think you’re fine. They all begin and end with different sounds, the -ia is kind of in the middle. [name_m]Tobias[/name_m] and [name_m]Bastian[/name_m] are a little bit close, but that’s more because of the repeating T and S sounds than the -ia. I wouldn’t worry about it. Although I do love [name_m]Leopold[/name_m] in this combo too, so if you’re worried about it I’d substitute [name_m]Leopold[/name_m] for [name_m]Bastian[/name_m].

I don’t think it’s a problem unless it bothers you. You can try to relax about it and we can all tell you that it doesn’t matter (which it doesn’t) but if you still find yourself questioning the sibset five days later, you will probably change it and be happier (more relaxed/think less about it), at least until the set is actually being used.
But again, I don’t think that one name not containing a letter combination is a problem at all.

I wouldn’t even have noticed. As pointed out, they have different sounds in each so I vote you are fine.

I wouldn’t have noticed either. I like it!

I like it…[name_f]Imogenia/name_f,[name_f]Eugenia[/name_f], iahla(eye-a-la),Iamogene(eye-a-mo-jeen),[name_f]Mia[/name_f], Miagene,[name_m]Fabian[/name_m], Dialin(dial-in)not dillon),William, Liam,…;;ianthe, Lillian, Brianne

I don’t think you need to worry at all - the names sound wonderful as a sibset. If it bothers you that [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] doesn’t ‘fit’ the pattern though, [name_f]Iphigenia[/name_f] is a similar, gorgeous (but maybe slightly out-there) choice.

[name_m]Just[/name_m] on another note, the combinations in your signature are fantastic - [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_u]Mercury[/name_u] especially is so handsome.

I don’t think it is odd at all. The names don’t sound overly similar, and personally, I think that they flow very nicely together. Each name has it’s own sound and feel.

Yay thanks everyone! [name_f]Glad[/name_f] you guys don’t think it’s an issue.

And thanks so much @ciottolo!
