This is the first time I’ve posted here, but I regularly stalk it lol
So… I have a dilemma and I need some advice please.
Our baby is due in 2 months ish, and I am desparately in love with all names nature-y.
My fave, for boy or girl, is [name]Sage[/name].
But. Our surname is Woods.
Is [name]Sage[/name] Woods waaay too out there? We are a slightly alternative (for want of a better word) family, so we still like the name. I think its rather lovely.
Hmm. I like [name]Sage[/name]. It’s a great name. But, Woods is a pretty naturey surname.
Personally, I think it works. And, if you love it, go for it!
[name]Just[/name] out of curiosity, have you chosen a middle name and do you have any ideas for future sibling names?
I personally really like the name, even though I do admit it is over the top. I would never use the word “dreadful” for your combination, but it may lead to teasing or strange looks, so be prepared for reactions. I think [name]Sage[/name] would make a lovely middle name for your baby as well. I am wondering if there are any other names you are considering? I think your name is nice, but it could be better. I might choose a name that is a little less literal.
Thank you!
Its good to get some feedback… in terms of middle name I have [name]Artemis[/name], [name]Aurelia[/name], [name]Bridget[/name], [name]Marguerite[/name]… my middle name collection is far from congruent hey
[name]Future[/name] siblings will be difficult, all my first name faves are, again, nature ones…I can’t help it, they just are :). Actually my fave for a boy is [name]Oak[/name] but obviously that is never happening
I think it’s adorable! I love [name]Sage[/name] for a boy or girl too…even more so on a boy actually!!! And I think [name]Sage[/name] Woods. Is an awesome name… Then again I am also probably slightly alternative (for want of a better word go for it!!!
[name]Sage[/name] Woods isn’t terrible, but it does sound a bit like the kind of inoffensive naturey names that people like to give to spas or country clubs or a gated communities. I’m fairly certain I’ve heard, “View our new model homes in the [name]Sage[/name] Woods addition!” on the car radio before.
There are a lot of really striking nature names out there that won’t get into spa territory.
[name]How[/name] do you feel about
[name]Azalea[/name]
[name]Bay[/name]
[name]Coral[/name]
[name]Dahlia[/name]
[name]Flora[/name]
[name]Marigold[/name]
[name]Opal[/name]
Hey it’s not a bad combo- but how about this if you’re worried…’[name]Aurelia[/name] [name]Sage[/name] Woods’. I like 2 syllable followed by 1 syllable names- rolls off the tongue easier!
[name]Sage[/name] Woods is just too descriptive. You can’t really use two word names in a combo without it sounding a bit ridiculous. Especially since [name]Sage[/name] is used to describe a shade of green.
Why not use it in the middle, so you can call her [name]Sage[/name] if you like but she won’t always be a green wood.
I agree with this. I think [name]Sage[/name] Woods is a little redundant, kind of like how I loved the combo [name]Eira[/name] [name]Snow[/name], but [name]Eira[/name] means snow, so it’s basically snow snow, in this case it’s [name]Green[/name] Woods, which woods tend to be green…
I think [name]Sage[/name] would be a great mn but as a fn it’s too descriptive for my taste.
[name]Aurelia[/name] [name]Sage[/name] [name]Wood[/name] would be my 1st choice.
[name]Aurelia[/name] sage woods is beautiful! I think putting [name]Sage[/name] in front is a bit much, but it is still nice and ultimately if you love it THAT much you should go for it. Good luck!
I think [name]Sage[/name] Woods is still rather lovely, but then again, I don’t think of [name]Sage[/name] the way most non-namenerds do, and I never have. [name]Ever[/name] since I can remember, I’ve loved the name [name]Sage[/name]. I think if you both love it, then go for it! It’s not the worst name I’ve ever heard and I very much doubt that it ever will be.
[name]Way[/name] too much nature for me. I like [name]Sage[/name] for a boy, but not so much on a girl. I like idea of [name]Sage[/name] in the middle.
