Am I overthinking it? 27 weeks pregnant with #3

Hey we are expecting baby #3. Considering the name [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] [name_m]Jonah[/name_m] if it’s a boy. What do you think? My only “concern” is that if others shortened it to M.J. (We wouldn’t call him this) would it make people think of marijuana? We are thinking of using the nickname [name_m]Mac[/name_m]. Thanks in advance :slight_smile:

I would say it’s a non issue. [name_m]How[/name_m] many people would know his middle name in order to use the nickname MJ anyway?

Besides, I don’t think people would connect MJ and marijuana. MJ makes me think a little of [name_u]Michael[/name_u] [name_m]Jackson[/name_m], not weed.

I don’t think its an issue. MJ reminds me of [name_u]Michael[/name_u] [name_u]Jordan[/name_u] actually. I don’t think I ever would have associated it with weed if you hadn’t said it first.

I would have never made the marijuana connection, and as you probably won’t be calling him MJ for the most part, I think its a nonissue.
I love [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] and I think the nickname [name_m]Mac[/name_m] is so innovative and awesome!

I wouldn’t make that connection at all so I don’t think you need to give it another seconds thought. I love the nn [name_m]Mac[/name_m].

I would never have made that connection — I actually think MJ is a pretty cool nickname! But it’s unlikely people will call him that unless he goes by his full name, first and middle. [name_m]Mac[/name_m] for short is a great idea, and [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] [name_m]Jonah[/name_m] is a lovely name.

If you don’t call him MJ I doubt anyone else will. [name_m]Even[/name_m] if they did, I would never associate it with marijuana. I associate it with [name_u]Michael[/name_u] [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] or [name_u]Jordan[/name_u]. Congrats and good luck.

Thank you all so much for your feedback! You have put my mind at ease about it. [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] [name_m]Jonah[/name_m] is definitely our top pick for a boy and I don’t see it changing now as I have researched names for SO long and haven’t come up with anything I like more and my hubby doesn’t like any other names I throw at him :joy:. Naming a child is so hard! Thanks again :slight_smile:
