Am I the only one...

Who is so sick of [name]Caitlyn[/name]/[name]Caitlin[/name]/[name]Kaitlyn[/name]/[name]Kaitlin[/name]/Kaitlynne/[name]Caitlynne[/name]/[name]Kaitlynn[/name]/[name]Caitlynn[/name], [name]Katie[/name]/[name]Catie[/name]/[name]Cady[/name]/[name]Kati[/name], [name]Cate[/name]/[name]Kate[/name]/[name]Cait[/name]/[name]Kait[/name] names? No offense to anyone but they’re EVERYWHERE (at least where I am), and not even appealing!

Eh, I’m not sick of like I’m sick of [name]Jasmine[/name], but I’ve been over the name for a long time now. I love [name]Kate[/name]/[name]Katie[/name] though.
[name]Kaitlyn[/name] variants I’m way over though.

lol, this amuses me since you have a [name]Cate[/name] name in your signature. I’m guessing you don’t plan on using the nn [name]Cate[/name]? I do think it’s a bit unavoidable, though, unless you call her [name]Erin[/name]/[name]Erina[/name] or something.

But as for your question, I love [name]Catherine[/name] nn [name]Cate[/name] (or maybe nn [name]Kitty[/name]. But probably just [name]Cate[/name].), and I would use [name]Kate[/name] as a MN to honor my mom ([name]Arianne[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Kate[/name] is my second favorite girls’ name).

But no, really, I’m not tired of the [name]Katie[/name] names. They’re not really everywhere where I am, and there’s others I’m much more tired of hearing ([name]Elijah[/name] and [name]Autumn[/name]! urgh).

I don’t care much for [name]Kaitlin[/name], but I love [name]Katherine[/name] and most of its other variants. My mom is just [name]Kathy[/name], and my great-grandma was [name]Katherine[/name], nicknamed [name]Katie[/name]. I would use [name]Kate[/name], but I think I’m starting to prefer [name]Kit[/name].

I do not at all like [name]Katherine[/name]/[name]Kathy[/name]. It sounds stodgy and plain to me. [name]Kate[/name] is just okay, and [name]Katie[/name] is super-cute but a little too common on kids and teens.

I got sick of [name]Caitlin[/name] etc back in the 90s when it was at its peak. I never found the appeal to this name either.

[name]Catherine[/name] and [name]Kate[/name] are classics and I love seeing them. I’m just sick of the +lynn part, but then the +lynn thing was generally overdone in the '90s. It’s all +leigh now. Bleh.

I’m very sick of them! [name]Katherine[/name] nn [name]Kate[/name]/[name]Katie[/name], I can handle, but I’m sick to death of variants. Especially the -lyn form.

I’m tired of kaylee/kayla/kelsey/kylie

I don’t care for caitlin and variants, but I don’t see them very much anymore. [name]Kate[/name] and cate I still like, they just feel classic as nns for [name]Katherine[/name].

Okay, just to make sure you know, but [name]Caitlin[/name] is the Irish/Welsh variant of [name]Catherine[/name] and is a legitimate name. It has been around a very, very long time. [name]Kathleen[/name] and [name]Catlin[/name] are the correct ways to pronounce the name; the Anglo-American pronunciation is [name]Kate[/name]-lin.

I named my daughter [name]Caitlin[/name] (she’s 27 now) way before it became popular, primarily because I babysat a little Welsh girl when I was a kid and fell in love with the name. I can’t remember the tv show – was it DeGrassi High? – it was a Canadian show, anyway, that came to the US and popularised [name]Caitlin[/name]. Why people misspell it is beyond me.

My daughter was [name]Kate[/name] most of her childhood until she renamed herself [name]Kitty[/name] when she was 15. She has gone by [name]Kitty[/name] since. I still love the name, so I am sorry you are tired of it.

I still like [name]Caitlin[/name]. I don’t know if I would use it, in real life, but I like it okay. I don’t like any other spelling of [name]Caitlin[/name] but [name]Caitlin[/name]. If you have to do a bajillion things to “make it special” or “more feminine” (Does anyone know a boy [name]Caitlin[/name]?) or whatever, maybe you don’t like it and should find a name you like better, is my thought.

I like [name]Kathleen[/name] as well. But to be fair I’ve never met a [name]Kathleen[/name] under the age of 25 and only a couple under 60.

I really like all [name]Kate[/name] names  [name]Kaitlyn[/name] is the only way i do that name though.

[name]Kathleen[/name], [name]Catarina[/name], [name]Catalina[/name], [name]Kathrine[/name], and [name]Katrina[/name] are all just so pretty to me. I love them all.

Agreed, I am very sick of these. Where I live, they’re everywhere. The only one I have an exception to is [name]Katherine[/name] nn [name]Kat[/name]. Not [name]Kate[/name] or [name]Katie[/name], I really can’t stand either variation. Not to say they’re horrible names, because I have a few friends with the names [name]Katie[/name] or [name]Kaitlyn[/name]/[name]Caitlyn[/name], there is just no, no way that I would ever use those names.

I like [name]Kate[/name], [name]Cate[/name], [name]Cat[/name]…but I don’t like the sound of ‘Cath’ so [name]Cathy[/name], [name]Kathy[/name], [name]Catherine[/name], ect are not for me…and I don’t like the look of [name]Cait[/name] / [name]Kait[/name]. None of these are favorites and they are way overdone. I love [name]Kitty[/name] though!

Haha, one of my middle names is a variant of [name]Catherine[/name]/[name]Cate[/name]/[name]Catrina[/name], etc. (It’s NOT [name]Caitlin[/name] or [name]Kaitlyn[/name] or anything.)

I’m sick of [name]Caitlin[/name]; really common where I live. But what annoys me even more is when people turn a legitimate Irish name that stems from [name]Catherine[/name] - this would be [name]Caitlin[/name] - into a combo of [name]Kate[/name] and [name]Lyn[/name] - this would be [name]Katelyn[/name]. I don’t like that spelling.

I love my [name]Katharine[/name] nn [name]Kate[/name]/[name]Katie[/name]/[name]Kat[/name]! The name suits her perfectly and she was named after her grandmother. She told me the other day that she liked the name [name]Kathleen[/name] - from the [name]Magic[/name] Tree house books most likely. I’m wondering if by the time I’m a grandma that name we’ll be ready for circulation again.

I’m a teacher and have 4 in my class this year…
[name]Caitlin[/name], katlin (yes kat lin), [name]Kaitlyn[/name] and [name]Caitlyn[/name] all the same name with different spelling AHHHHH…
So yes I’m a little frustrated with them at the moment!!

Sometimes it’s hard to remember when a name wasn’t popular. I remember first hearing it decades ago (and seeing it spelled [name]Caitlin[/name]) and I loved it. I may have chosen it had I been an expecting mom back then. So I guess I am not annoyed necessarily; I just wouldn’t choose it today.

As far as [name]Kate[/name]/[name]Cate[/name]. Loved them then, love them now.
