Amadeus too much?

I love it. I love it’s meaning, and it’s history. But is [name]Amadeus[/name] too much?

If you absolutely love it, then no. But I’d have a nn waiting for him…a very cool nn

In my opinion, nope. I was actually looking this name up again today, but I like it in the middle name spot. I absolutely adore it’s meaning. In the past, I had thought this name would be too much for a child, but then again there are parents who have no problem naming their children: [name]Atticus[/name], [name]Maximus[/name], [name]Titus[/name], [name]Tiberius[/name], etc. (which, I find my self becoming more interested in as middle name options). Of course, some will think it’s too heavy for a child, but I say go for it.

[name]Just[/name] in case you decide the -us a little heavy, you can try a different variant, [name]Amadeo[/name] or [name]Amedeo[/name]

If people nowadays can justify picking any word out of dictionary/phonebook and using it as a name for a child then you can definitely use a legitimate name  It doesn’t matter how unusual it is, it’s real; go for it!

lol I agree with Renrose. It’s not my style for a first name (I prefer a more “normal” name in the front and the unusual ones in the middle), but I certainly don’t think it’s too much in today’s naming climate.

I like [name]Amadeus[/name]. I wouldn’t use it for many reasons but I think it’s a great name with great associations.

I love [name]Amadeus[/name]! If I used it, it’d be as a MN, because it does feel a bit much to me. That, and I’d be using it for two reasons–it’s meaning (the love of God), and for my favorite composer, [name]Wolfgang[/name] [name]Amadeus[/name] [name]Mozart[/name]. I think it’s more usable as a MN, but I would love to meet a little [name]Amadeus[/name]! I would probably use the nn Mad. I know a little [name]Madeleine[/name] nn Mad, her parents really wanted to avoid [name]Maddie[/name] but they liked Mad, and I think Mad would be pretty cool for a little boy, too.

I really like it, and no I don’t think it is too heavy for a child of this day and age. But I do second natural’s suggestion of [name]Amadeo[/name] and [name]Amedeo[/name] if you are having second thoughts.

[name]Amadeus[/name] is so amazing! I’d use it as a first, don’t stick it in the middle. [name]How[/name] beautiful to be named after [name]Mozart[/name] as well…

I super like [name]Amadeus[/name]!
