Amalia or Julia?

Dear berries

We need help deciding on a name for our little girl, the youngest of three. Her sisters are called [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] and [name_f]Theresa[/name_f]. We originally were trying to decide between [name_f]Selma[/name_f] and [name_f]Julia[/name_f] but we decided against [name_f]Selma[/name_f] and now we are trying to decide between [name_f]Julia[/name_f] and [name_f]Amalia[/name_f]. Which do you prefer and which do you think goes better with the other two?

Please tell us your honest opinions - and thanks in advance for your help! :slight_smile:

Both names are beautiful. I think I slightly prefer [name_f]Amalia[/name_f]. It’s a little more unusual and very regal sounding.

I really like both but I feel like [name_f]Amalia[/name_f] would be a better fit.

I think [name_f]Amalia[/name_f] sounds better with [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] and [name_f]Theresa[/name_f], and although [name_f]Julia[/name_f]’s nice, [name_f]Amalia[/name_f]’s beautiful, different, fresh and interesting.

I adore [name_f]Amalia[/name_f], and I think it goes really well with [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] and [name_f]Theresa[/name_f].

This is hard but I think I’m going to have to go with [name_f]Amalia[/name_f]! It feels unusual and old fashioned but also modern and familiar and I think that makes it a good fit with [name_f]SIenna[/name_f] and [name_f]Theresa[/name_f]

Another vote for [name_f]Amalia[/name_f]…[name_f]Julia[/name_f] to me has passed its peak & it’s now the name of late teens/early 20s girls.

I think both fit well with [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] and [name_f]Theresa[/name_f], and I love both, but I’m hardcore crushing on [name_f]Amalia[/name_f] right now, so that’s getting my vote! I think [name_f]Sienna[/name_f], [name_f]Theresa[/name_f], and [name_f]Amalia[/name_f] are gorgeous together.

ETA: I think that [name_f]Julia[/name_f] [name_f]Amalia[/name_f] would be a gorgeous combo, though, if you don’t have one picked yet! [name_m]Even[/name_m] with the matchy endings, I love it. But I still love [name_f]Amalia[/name_f] more than [name_f]Julia[/name_f] [name_f]Amalia[/name_f]… :stuck_out_tongue:

[name_f]Amalia[/name_f] fits in perfect. [name_f]Julia[/name_f] just doesn’t have that spark with your other girls.

I think they both work well with your girls, but I prefer [name_f]Julia[/name_f].

I seem to be against the majority but my vote goes to [name_f]Julia[/name_f]. I also love the nn [name_u]Jules[/name_u]. I feel like [name_f]Amalia[/name_f] will blend into all the [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]'s, [name_f]Emelia[/name_f]'s, [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]'s. However those are still all lovely names, I just feel [name_f]Julia[/name_f] is more distinct, in a good way. GL.

I think [name_f]Julia[/name_f] because it is pretty-but-solid like your others, but if you went for [name_f]Amalia[/name_f], that would work too. Good luck!

I love both. Which is what I said about [name_f]Selma[/name_f] vs [name_f]Julia[/name_f] too haha. You have great taste. I do slighly prefer [name_f]Amalia[/name_f]. [name_f]Amalia[/name_f] is one of my favorites and I pushed super hard to get it on my hubby approved list, which never happened.
I feel similarly to how I did with your last thread. [name_f]Julia[/name_f] completes your sib set in a sweet, dainty way. I picture 3 little girls in pink playing quietly, perfect little ladies. [name_f]Amalia[/name_f] completes it in a fun, unexpected way, where each name kind of lends itself to a different vibe.

I prefer [name_f]Amalia[/name_f]. Both names are lovely, but I’m drawn more to [name_f]Amalia[/name_f]. Probably because it’s similar to [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] which is one of my favourite names.
