What do you think of Amalthea? Is it wearable or is it too much?
No children on the way any time soon. I was just revisiting the name and I decided I wanted to hear some other opinions on it!

I think it’s probably wearable, though [name]Althea[/name] is much simpler and, in my personal opinion, prettier.
sounds like “a mall thing uh” so I don’t find it very pleasant.
I think I could get behind [name]Alithea[/name].
I love just [name]Althea[/name]
I do like [name]Althea[/name] and [name]Alethea[/name] both a lot as well, though the “[name]Alicia[/name] with a lisp” description of [name]Alethea[/name] has stuck in my mind and unfortunately put me off it slightly. Thanks for the responses so far!
I prefer Amalthea over similar sounding names because it was the main character in The Last Unicorn, with historical and mythological background. It’s more mysterious and warm.
It’s a pretty name, and I’m a sucker for astronomical (one of [name]Jupiter[/name]'s moons) and mythological connections, so that’s a plus. The myth is nice too, the goat-tending nymph foster-mother of [name]Zeus[/name] (or an actual goat, but I like to think it was a nymph). The name means “gentle goddess”. I also like [name]Aletheia[/name]/[name]Alethea[/name]/[name]Alathea[/name], the personification of truth.
