Amarantha

I remember distinctly coming across this name before and immediately dismissing it because I didn’t like the look or sound of it but as I was scrolling through lists in search of new names this name came up again and seemed to catch my eye and after saying it a few times I find that it’s not quite as bad as I initially thought.

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you like the similar variant Amaranthe better? I think I might prefer this version but I’m not entirely sure how to pronounce it - either; am-ar-ANTH or am-ar-an-THEE

Both are somewhat guilty pleasure-esque but I tend to like more daring names anyway.

Thoughts?

I do prefer the Amaranthe variant, but I really like both. [name_f]Amarantha[/name_f] has a certain darkness and seriousness to it, but therein lies the beauty, mystique, and strength. Sound-wise, it reminds me of a mashup of the classic [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], 90s [name_f]Samantha[/name_f], and bold [name_f]Xanthe[/name_f].

I love [name_f]Amarantha[/name_f] and it was my #2 girls name for a long, long time. Not sure if I’ll be able to use it now because of Amandas in my SO’s past (It reminds him too much of their name)… So someone please use this rare beauty!

I see what you mean about it being jarring and odd at first, but once you’ve said it a few times it kind of grows on you. I prefer the [name_f]Amarantha[/name_f] variation as from what I can tell, Amaranthe is am-ar-ANTH which I’m not a fan of
