I think it is usable, reminds me [name_m]Amadeus[/name_m] possibly they are related and I like the sound of the name, [name_m]Teo[/name_m] is a favorite of mine too but I use Teoman as a full name
It reminds me of [name_m]Amadeo[/name_m] a lot, which reminds me in turn of [name_m]Mozart[/name_m], which greatly endears it to me.
I really like it! Very handsome. A bit too long and Latin-sounding for me personally (I worry [name_m]Matteo[/name_m] is too Latin for me, even if he’s one of my favorites) but I would love it on someone else’s kid.
I like it! You do run the risk of it being confused for [name_m]Amadeo[/name_m]/[name_m]Amedeo[/name_m]- in my area, that’s a somewhat uncommon but fairly widely-known name, so I think it would be constantly confused. But if you live in an area without a lot of Spanish or Italian speakers, I think the only people who’d recognize it are art fans who associate it with Modigliani.
Amateo is very handsome! I also think [name_m]Teo[/name_m] is so sweet and adorable.
I prefer [name_m]Mateo[/name_m].
Other options:
[name_m]Timoteo[/name_m]

Temo
[name_m]Teodoro[/name_m]
[name_m]Teodor[/name_m]

Terenzio
[name_m]Antero[/name_m]
[name_m]Artemio[/name_m]
Aretmios
Antelmo
[name_m]Stefano[/name_m]
It’s too similar to [name_m]Amadeo[/name_m] imo.
There are also other names to get to [name_m]Teo[/name_m] other than [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]/[name_m]Mateo[/name_m]/[name_m]Matteo[/name_m], such as [name_m]Timoteo[/name_m] (I could even see a [name_m]Timothy[/name_m] going by [name_m]Teo[/name_m]) or the [name_m]French[/name_m]-Italian [name_m]Timeo[/name_m], also [name_m]Tadeo[/name_m]/[name_m]Taddeo[/name_m], [name_m]Theodor[/name_m] (as in Dr Seuss), [name_m]Teos[/name_m].
Thank you all so much for your input! I do also really like [name_m]Amadeo[/name_m], nn [name_f]Ami[/name_f]…but it doesn’t have that connection to [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] that I’m hoping for. From the suggested alternatives, I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_m]Timoteo[/name_m], [name_m]Timeo[/name_m], and [name_m]Tadeo[/name_m].
I like it, though wouldn’t use it myself.
Personally, I don’t think [name_m]Teo[/name_m] needs a fuller name - just [name_m]Teo[/name_m] is really nice.
