[name]Emery[/name] - Too much like the nail file. [name]Amory[/name] is still in the boys camp so I think it’s a better option.
[name]Alec[/name] - [name]Alexander[/name] nn [name]Alec[/name] would be my preference.
[name]Leon[/name] - I know this name is popular in parts of Europe but to me it’s “dated”. Too many rough bullies were named [name]Leon[/name] when I was growing up.
[name]Morven[/name] - too much like geeky [name]Marvin[/name] and [name]Milton[/name]
Emeric - Ok but nothing exciting. I don’t like the “ric” sound very much.
[name]Clive[/name] - an English name that sounds like a hick
[name]Alaric[/name] - I used to like this name when I was younger but now it’s lost its appeal for some reason (the “ric” could be the issue).
[name]Ambrose[/name] - like, but feels very posh and hard to wear
[name]Emery[/name] - feels kind of feminine, prefer [name]Emrys[/name] for a boy
[name]Alastair[/name] - I really like this one
[name]Alec[/name], [name]Caspar[/name], [name]Noel[/name], [name]Gareth[/name], [name]Clive[/name] - not really keen on these
[name]Rowan[/name] - only like this on a girl, prefer [name]Roan[/name] for a boy
[name]Leon[/name] - it’s ok
[name]Morven[/name] - I’ve only ever heard of this for a girl and prefer it for girls
Emeric - not keen, reminds me of emetic
[name]Alaric[/name] - I like this, but not sure if it’s easy to wear. And not keen on [name]Al[/name] or [name]Ric[/name] as a nn.
[name]Ambrose[/name] is a really great name, but I’d prefer it as a middle name ([name]Emrys[/name] is the Welsh variation, which is one of my favorite names, and also seems to fit with the style you like)
[name]Emery[/name] is a nice name, but I much prefer [name]Emrys[/name]
[name]Alastair[/name] is great. [name]Noble[/name].
[name]Alec[/name] is okay, though it feels a little insubstantial to me.
[name]Casper[/name] is a great name, though I prefer [name]Jasper[/name].
[name]Rowan[/name] isn’t bad, but not of the same caliber to some of your other choices.
[name]Noel[/name] I’m not such a fan of.
[name]Gareth[/name] is okay, I prefer [name]Garrett[/name] (sp?) a bit more though. Neither are of the same caliber as some of your other names though.
[name]Leon[/name] is decent, though I prefer [name]Lionel[/name] or [name]Leonidas[/name] or [name]Leopold[/name] quite a bit more.
[name]Morven[/name] I don’t like at all. Feels harsh.
Emeric ([name]Emmerich[/name]) is a great name, one I considered for awhile, until I realized I liked [name]Emrys[/name] a lot more.
[name]Clive[/name] feels a little harsh to me also, but I can understand the appeal.
[name]Alaric[/name] is another one I was looking at for quite some time, and would be high on my own list if it didn’t sound too similar to my brother’s name.
[name]Ambrose[/name] [It sounds like a big name to grow into]
[name]Emery[/name] ✗ [Prefer [name]Amory[/name]]
[name]Alastair[/name] [Same as [name]Ambrose[/name], sounds like a big name to grow into]
[name]Alec[/name] ✗
[name]Caspar[/name]
[name]Rowan[/name]
[name]Noel[/name]
[name]Gareth[/name] ✗
[name]Leon[/name]
[name]Morven[/name] ✗ [Sounds like an old man name]
Emeric ✗
[name]Clive[/name] ✗
[name]Alaric[/name] ✗
[name]Ambrose[/name], [name]Emery[/name], [name]Alastair[/name], [name]Caspar[/name], [name]Rowan[/name], [name]Noel[/name], [name]Gareth[/name], [name]Leon[/name], Emeric, [name]Clive[/name] & [name]Alaric[/name].
^ These are the ones I like
My only problem with [name]Alaric[/name] is that it reminds me of Vampire Diaries, but most people probably wouldn’t know.
Also, you could use Emeric, and then use [name]Emery[/name] as a nn.
[name]Ambrose[/name] has long been a guilty pleasure of mine, I really like it but probably wouldn’t actually use it. [name]Emery[/name] is on my girl list and I already have a [name]Rowan[/name] so those are my favorties from your list.
I love:
[name]Ambrose[/name]
[name]Caspar[/name]
[name]Alasdair[/name]
Middle Ground:
[name]Leon[/name] - If pronounced (lay-on–Léon), then I would like it–but [name]Leon[/name] feels a little dated. There are better “[name]Leo[/name]” names.
[name]Emery[/name] - I actually really like this on a boy. [name]Amaury[/name]/[name]Amory[/name] is also a great option as well that feels more masculine.
[name]Gareth[/name] - Didn’t care for it until I saw the meaning, but I still don’t like it’s sound.
[name]Rowan[/name] - Seems to be well liked on this site, but it’s just alright for me.
Emeric - It’s okay, but [name]Emrys[/name] is much nicer.
[name]Alaric[/name] - I like it
[name]Ambrose[/name] – Too many negative personal associations with this name for me, and it’s also too soft for my taste.
[name]Emery[/name] – Prefer [name]Emory[/name], also too soft.
[name]Alastair[/name] – [name]LOVE[/name] this.
[name]Alec[/name] – Ok.
[name]Caspar[/name] – Despite it’s association with the friendly ghost, I really like it.
[name]Rowan[/name] – Cute.
[name]Noel[/name] – Prefer [name]Neil[/name].
[name]Gareth[/name] – I really like this one, but prefer: [name]Garett[/name], [name]Grant[/name], or [name]Gerard[/name].
[name]Leon[/name] – Ok.
[name]Morven[/name] – Interesting, not really my style. Prefer [name]Marvin[/name].
Emeric – Cool!
[name]Clive[/name] – [name]Love[/name]. [name]Even[/name] though it sounds like [name]Cleave[/name].
[name]Alaric[/name] – On my list.
[name]Ambrose[/name] is my absolutely favorite. I quite like [name]Leon[/name], [name]Gareth[/name] and [name]Emery[/name] but don’t care for rest.
Most of these are not my style but I can see myself using [name]Noel[/name] or [name]Leon[/name].
Like: [name]Ambrose[/name], [name]Alec[/name], [name]Alastair[/name]
Dislike: [name]Emery[/name], [name]Leon[/name], [name]Morven[/name] (perfect for a Dark [name]Wizard[/name], though!), [name]Clive[/name]
No opinions on the rest.
I like [name]Ambrose[/name] best, but think it would be hard for an actual child to wear. Would make a great middle though. I don’t so much like [name]Leon[/name], but I think [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Leonard[/name] are great.
I like [name]Alastair[/name] the most, such a great name! :)I like [name]Alaric[/name] and Emeric too. [name]Rowan[/name], [name]Casper[/name] and [name]Leon[/name] are also nice. The rest aren’t really my cup of tea.
[name]Ambrose[/name]- Not really my style but nothing wrong with it.
[name]Emery[/name] -It’s nice unfortunately being used for for girls, but still a great name for a boy.
[name]Alastair[/name] - [name]Love[/name] it! Sounds very grown up and handsome
[name]Alec[/name] - Would make a great nickname for [name]Alastair[/name] not really a fan of it on it’s own.
[name]Caspar[/name] - [name]Love[/name] it! [name]One[/name] of my personal favourites.
[name]Rowan[/name] - [name]Don[/name]'t like it due to personal assocations, sorry.
[name]Noel[/name] - Really cheesy on a [name]December[/name] baby, but that aside I like it.
[name]Gareth[/name] - Sounds kind of dated to me.
[name]Leon[/name]- It’s okay
[name]Morven[/name]- I like it it’s interesting.
Emeric - Again interesting, but I prefer [name]Emery[/name].
[name]Clive[/name] - Not my style at all, sorry.
[name]Alaric[/name] - Had this on my list for a bit before I replaced it with [name]Edric[/name] (another you might like) but I still think it’s a great name.
