Amelia, Mia, Emmeline, or Emilia

I cannot decide which of the 3 of these to keep. I love them all for different reasons. I love [name]Amelia[/name] because it looks so classy and comes with the NN [name]Mia[/name], but I find myself being less attracted to [name]Amelia[/name] and more towards just plain [name]Mia[/name]. I love [name]Emmeline[/name] because it just seems so sweet and I love the NN [name]Emmy[/name]. I like that [name]Emilia[/name] is somewhat of a combination of both, but I am not sure I love it quite as much. What do you berries think? Which should I keep? Which fits better with my current list of names?

I would keep [name]Amelia[/name] and [name]Emmeline[/name]. [name]Amelia[/name] is sweet and classic and you can always call her [name]Mia[/name] as a nn (that way you get two names you love :)). [name]Emmeline[/name] is beautiful and feminine and gives you the nn [name]Emmy[/name].

I think they are all great names! My favorite of them is [name]Mia[/name]! I like that [name]Emilia[/name] is a combination of [name]Amelia[/name] and [name]Emmeline[/name] but if you do not love it then ditch it! I would definitely keep [name]Emmeline[/name] because on your older threads it seemed like it was a definite keeper

[name]Emmeline[/name] is my choice, followed by [name]Amelia[/name].

I would keep [name]Emmeline[/name].

I like [name]Amelia[/name] best, followed by [name]Emmeline[/name]. [name]Emilia[/name] is pretty also though. I don’t think you could really go wrong.

I like [name]Amelia[/name] a lot. I don’t see [name]Mia[/name] as a nickname–it’s really more it’s own name. If [name]Mia[/name] is the name you love, stick with that as a given name.

[name]Emmeline[/name] for sure! Beautiful!

I like [name]Amelia[/name] (nn [name]Mia[/name]) and [name]Emilia[/name], I cannot choose between the two either!

I love [name]Amelia[/name]. Its the one I would keep.

However, [name]Emilia[/name] give you the nn [name]Emmy[/name] and [name]Mia[/name] and sounds extremely close to [name]Amelia[/name]. I think for you, it’s the best choice of the 3.

Here’s my take:

#1: All these names are fine, nice names.
#2: If you love [name]Mia[/name] most of all, you might just use it, EXCEPT it strikes me as the most modern, least traditional of all 4. It’s also much shorter. So if your style goes more traditional, longer names, then naming a daughter just [name]Mia[/name] might make it harder to put together a set with good matching. That said, that’s not the most important thing in the world, so if you can see yourself not worrying too much, just use [name]Mia[/name].
#3: If you like [name]Amelia[/name], I would use it and not [name]Emilia[/name]. [name]Emilia[/name] just seems to be setting up for a lot of spelling and pronunciation problems. It’s a nice nam, and I know it has its own history separate from [name]Amelia[/name], but plenty of people won’t know that and will think it’s a “misspelled” [name]Amelia[/name].
#4: If you find yourself agreeing with the thinking above, I might avoid [name]Emmeline[/name]. I adore the name [name]Emmeline[/name], but no one knows how to spell and pronounce it.
Final call: Nothing should be totally ruled out, but [name]Amelia[/name] nn [name]Mia[/name] seems ideal: you get a longer, traditional name which you seem to like, and a name that most people will know how to spell and pronounce. [name]Mia[/name] actually wins major points on both those fronts, too : D.

[name]Amelia[/name] is my fav!

I like [name]Emilia[/name]. I think you could use either [name]Emmy[/name] or [name]Mia[/name] quite easily for it and I like it best with your choices. I do like [name]Emmeline[/name] but I don’t love it anymore, and I think [name]Emilia[/name] is more striking with your other favorites. I’ve never been a fan of [name]Amelia[/name], and, while [name]Mia[/name] is sweet, it seems a bit too short and sweet for me. Although a lot of your choices seem to be short and sweet right now–[name]Vera[/name], [name]Stella[/name], [name]Willa[/name], [name]Nora[/name], [name]Adele[/name], [name]Ava[/name], etc.–so [name]Mia[/name] would fit right in there, but others, like [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Clara[/name], [name]Cecilia[/name], [name]Victoria[/name], [name]Seraphina[/name], and [name]Annabelle[/name] would work better with [name]Emilia[/name], I think… So it’s a toss-up between those two for me.

Thanks everyone! I think it is a toss up for me between keeping [name]Emilia[/name], or keeping [name]Emmeline[/name] and [name]Mia[/name], I am just nor sure yet.
