I personally like [name]Sylvia[/name] so much more than [name]Amelia[/name]. [name]Sylvia[/name] is smart, chic, and different, while I see [name]Amelia[/name] as a well-mannered lady. And I just think smart, chic, and different is way more appealing than a well-mannered lady.
I like both, but since [name]Amelia[/name] is skyrocketing up the charts I prefer the still-underused [name]Sylvia[/name].
I do like both of them, but [name]Sylvia[/name] is so so beautiful. I love the sound of it and that ‘sil’ sound in it makes me think of silver.
They are both lovely, but [name]Amelia[/name] is getting more and more popular. I also like [name]Sylvie[/name] and [name]Silva[/name] as related options for [name]Sylvia[/name].
I prefer [name]Sylvia[/name], particularly with [name]Sylvie[/name] as a nn.
My vote was for [name]Amelia[/name]. However, if it was [name]Sylvie[/name] instead of [name]Sylvia[/name], my vote would have been for [name]Sylvie[/name].
If you are going to call [name]Sylvia[/name] that anyway, why not just name her [name]Sylvie[/name].
[name]Sylvie[/name] goes well with [name]Isabelle[/name]. Très chic!
I think [name]Amelia[/name] goes better with [name]Isabelle[/name], but I much prefer the name [name]Sylvia[/name].
I love both! I voted [name]Sylvia[/name] because it feels fresher.
I love both, but prefer [name]Sylvia[/name]. Especially in the sibset. I think [name]Isabelle[/name] (which I love, btw!) and [name]Sylvia[/name] are great as sisters.
Good luck!
[name]Sylvia[/name] wins it for me. [name]Amelia[/name] has really skyrocketed over the past few years, and while it’s still beautiful, [name]Sylvia[/name] seems so much fresher. And there’s a silvery magic to it that [name]Amelia[/name] simply lacks.
[name]Both[/name] lovely - [name]Amelia[/name] has great nickname options; [name]Milly[/name]/[name]Millie[/name], [name]Mia[/name], etc. [name]Sylvia[/name] is a beautiful name - I like [name]Sylvie[/name] as a nickname. They both have very strong namesakes too - [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Earhart[/name] and [name]Sylvia[/name] Plath.
I adore [name]Sylvia[/name], nn [name]Sylvie[/name]. I named my kitten [name]Sylvie[/name] but I would so still use it for a daughter, though that’s probably weird lol. It’s so beautiful.
Thank you all very much for your input!
I really like [name]Amelia[/name] nn [name]Millie[/name] but with [name]Isabelle[/name], I think [name]Millie[/name] sounds too similar. I vote [name]Sylvie[/name]!
[name]Sylvia[/name] still feels dated to me, sorry. I voted [name]Amelia[/name].
I voted for [name]Amelia[/name]. I know it’s very popular and I normally stay away from popular names, but I just love [name]Amelia[/name] too much to let it go. I also adore [name]Sylvia[/name] though.
This, exactly! [name]Sylvia[/name] has such a different feel to me than [name]Sylvie[/name]. This is how I feel about [name]Eleanor[/name] vs. [name]Nora[/name] as well. The nickname potential makes the former exponentially better, but why not just use the fresher choice {[name]Sylvie[/name]/[name]Nora[/name]}, which is also an established name?
I voted for [name]Sylvia[/name], but I really do like both. [name]Sylvie[/name] is an adorable nickname!
