I really want to use a middle name that honors my mother [name_f]Wilma[/name_f], but I don’t like [name_f]Willa[/name_f] and [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f], while gorgeous, is a little bit of a mouthful. (two syllable last name, ends with an -er) Some other first names I like are [name_u]Everly[/name_u] and [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]. If baby is a boy his name will be [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m].
Also, thoughts on using two middle names? I saw some posts about someone considering [name_f]Alaska[/name_f] [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]-- Not a huge fan of [name_f]Alaska[/name_f], but the [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] combination took my breath away.
If you’re still looking for something that honors [name_f]Wilma[/name_f] though, how do you feel about [name_f]Mina[/name_f]? Since [name_f]Wilma[/name_f] is a short form of [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f], to me it would make sense to use another nickname for [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] such as [name_f]Mina[/name_f] as a way to honor a [name_f]Wilma[/name_f].
Or, you could consider using a name that has a similar meaning to [name_f]Wilma[/name_f]. [name_f]Wilma[/name_f] means “resolute protection,” so here are some other names with similar meanings:
Abrial: means “open, secure, protected”
Hera: means “protectress”
Kiva: means “protect”
Ramona: means “wise protector”
Rosamond/Rosamund: means “horse protection”
I personally think that [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] or [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] could be so pretty!
If you potentially like [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] as a two middles, I think that could totally work! [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is so short that it hardly adds letters or syllables, so I don’t think it would be overwhelming, especially if you chose a shorter middle name.
Amelia [name_u]Willow[/name_u] is pretty! [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_u]Willow[/name_u] has a beautiful flow. What about [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]?
