A-meh-lee or A-mee-leah
i love Amélie but my husband likes [name_f]Amelia[/name_f].
thoughts?
I’m usually torn between the two as well! I think I prefer [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] though, because I do worry I’d constantly be correcting the pronunciation of [name_f]Amelie[/name_f], or that she’d get confused for [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] anyways
Amélie. It’s my daughter’s name so I’m biased
Amélie gets my vote!
Amelie is definitely my favourite. I love the sound of it, how it looks written down, and that it has an International vibe.
I vote for [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]. [name_u]Strong[/name_u] and classic
Amelie feels so much more open and genial to me. [name_m]Can[/name_m]’t explain why.
Same with [name_f]Emilia[/name_f]—feels more welcoming than [name_f]Amelia[/name_f].
I prefer [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]. Amélie is gorgeous, but I don’t think it works well in [name_f]English[/name_f] speaking countries. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though it’s gaining popularity, I’ve seen it get mispronounced multiple times (by people who have Amélie’s), and when it is pronounced correctly, it just sounds a bit awkward going from [name_f]English[/name_f] to [name_u]French[/name_u] mid-sentence - to me, at least.
Amélie is much more interesting.
Amelie is so cute! (Not sure how to do the dash above the e.)
Definitely Amélie for me too.
I find [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] a bit dull having known so many but I adore the sleek flair of [name_f]Amelie[/name_f]
I like both. In an ideal world I would choose Amélie but I would worry it would be a name people would constantly mispronounce or it would be hard to type the accents on forms etc. So I would more likely go with [name_f]Amelia[/name_f].
Amélie is adorable and fresh!
What about [name_f]Amalia[/name_f]?
I’m team Amélie too! I haven’t been able to bring myself to use it, for personal reasons, but I would be more excited to meet a little Amélie as opposed to [name_f]Amelia[/name_f].
Though not the actual question, [name_f]Amalia[/name_f] would probably be my current favorite of the [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] name family, but I suppose that’s neither here nor there. lol.
Good luck!
These are my thoughts exactly!
