Amelie

What would you naturally shorten [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] to?

[name_f]My[/name_f] family have shortened my girls’ names so I like to make sure I’m good with the potential nicknames before definitely adding a name to our list lol.

I love [name_f]Amelie[/name_f]!

I think I would shorten it to [name_f]Amy[/name_f] or [name_f]Millie[/name_f]

The most intuitive for me is [name_f]Amma[/name_f] (like aw-ma); I know of an [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] who goes by this nickname!

I also like [name_f]Millie[/name_f] or [name_u]Mel[/name_u]!

Propably [name_m]Ames[/name_m].

Millie

I love [name_f]Amelie[/name_f]

I have a character called [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] who gets called [name_u]Ami[/name_u], [name_f]Amy[/name_f], [name_f]Millie[/name_f], Mims and [name_f]Mimi[/name_f].

I think [name_u]Ami[/name_u] is the most natural and automatic

Millie or [name_f]Mellie[/name_f] would be most intuitive for me, [name_f]Amy[/name_f] too.

Definitely [name_f]Amy[/name_f]!

My first thought was [name_f]Mimi[/name_f].

Amelie is so gorgeous!
I like [name_u]Mel[/name_u] and [name_f]Mellie[/name_f].

Amy, naturally, but then I’d probably go for [name_f]Milly[/name_f] or [name_u]Lee[/name_u].

[name_f]My[/name_f] daughter’s name is [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] and she’s often called [name_u]Ami[/name_u], which I think is very sweet. It started out with her cousin, who couldn’t say her name, calling her that. I would say I call her [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] more often though.

Edit: I can’t say I understand Amy/Aimee as a nickname though, it has a totally different beginning ‘a’ sound to Amelie…

I don’t think I’d shorten it naturally. [name_f]My[/name_f] favourite nickname for it is probably [name_f]Mimi[/name_f].

I would probably do [name_f]Millie[/name_f], [name_f]Mimi[/name_f], or [name_u]Ami[/name_u] (ah-me rather than ay-me)

I love [name_f]Amelie[/name_f]! I would probably shorten it to [name_u]Ami[/name_u](ah-me) or [name_f]Lia[/name_f]. But I definitely don’t think it needs a nn.

Probably [name_f]Ama[/name_f].

I wouldn’t shorten it personally but ‘[name_u]Mel[/name_u]’ or ‘[name_f]Ammie[/name_f]’ would be my first instict.
