Amélie was born in [name]October[/name] 2008, I am currently expecting a boy this [name]August[/name] and now looking for a name that will match well with Amélie, preferably a French name. For now our options are 1. [name]Jacques[/name] 2. Loïc 3. [name]Jules[/name], but we are still looking for inspiration.
We are living in Belgium, Europe, so a French name would be nothing out of the ordinary.
I really like Loïc! I think Amélie and Loïc are really adorable together.
Much as I love French names, I’ve never known a ton about French boys’ names… I did a bit of searching, though–what about these?
[name]Leandre[/name]
[name]Auguste[/name]
[name]Armand[/name]
[name]Bertrand[/name]
Gérard (I’ve also seen [name]Girard[/name]?)
[name]Henri[/name]
[name]Laurent[/name]
[name]Julien[/name]
Matthieu
Rémy
[name]Thomas[/name]
I was trying to remember some of the names my best friend had mentioned when she was pregnant with triplets… she lived in [name]Paris[/name] her whole life so I thought maybe some of her options might work well as suggestions for you (her name was actually Amélie, haha). She had decided on [name]Jonas[/name], [name]Auguste[/name], and [name]Caspar[/name] if her three were all boys. I just found one of the old lists she had, though, and I found [name]Audric[/name], [name]Hugo[/name], Évariste, and [name]Gaspard[/name] on her list as well. I think some of those would be lovely with Amélie, too!
I don’t really know what’s in-style and what’s not in Europe right now, so sorry if these are all really dated, haha.
I can’t say I know much about French names either but I met a little [name]Olivier[/name] once and it made me love that name! Amélie and [name]Olivier[/name]?
I don’t know how I missed [name]Jules[/name] when I replied earlier but I have to say I utterly adore that! I think Amélie and [name]Jules[/name] are perfect together. Also love the pp’s suggestion of [name]Olivier[/name]!
Out of your 3 I would go with Loïc or [name]Jules[/name] which is currently popular in [name]France[/name], [name]Jacques[/name] is really out of fashion but [name]Jules[/name] is on a popularity kick right now and I think its in the top 20 for 2012.
Here are some other names that are on the rise or trending within the last year or so
[name]Augustin[/name], Clément, Enguerrand, [name]Achille[/name], Léon, [name]Lucien[/name], [name]Victor[/name], Théodore, [name]Oscar[/name], [name]Gabin[/name], [name]Jules[/name], [name]Louis[/name], [name]Arthur[/name], [name]Fernand[/name], [name]Gustave[/name].
If you want names that are en vogue some of the top 20 names in [name]Paris[/name] right now: [name]Gabriel[/name], [name]Arthur[/name], Raphaël, [name]Adam[/name], [name]Alexandre[/name], [name]Louis[/name], [name]Nathan[/name], [name]Maxime[/name], [name]Victor[/name], [name]Antoine[/name], [name]Sacha[/name], [name]Thomas[/name], [name]Mohammed[/name], [name]Hugo[/name], [name]Enzo[/name] (but I think this is starting to get some backlash), [name]Samuel[/name], [name]Oscar[/name]
