[name]Do[/name] you think the Italian word for love, Amore, is too far out for a name? I am just trying to think of some romantic names for a girl that are kind of sexy as a woman
Not my cup of tea.
I feel like I once met a child named Amore…? I like it. But be prepared for a lifetime of mispronunciations.
I think it’s too recognizable as a word rather than a name. [name]How[/name] about the uni-sex name [name]Amari[/name]?
It’s a little on-the-nose, in that it sounds like the lead to a somewhat trashy romance paperback. It’s a recognisable enough word even for non-Italian speakers that people will know what it means. Super literal. Prefer [name]Esme[/name], [name]Amoret[/name] (ahm-er-ay, I believe), [name]Amy[/name], [name]Amabel[/name].
I’ve met an [name]Amara[/name] before. I agree with pp’s that it’s a bit too literal. Almost like a virtue name gone wild.
This sums it up for me too.
She would also have to be prepared for a lifetime of “That’s Amore”…it’s just a little too in your face to be romantic or sexy [name]IMO[/name].
