It kind of depends on how important using a family name is to you. If it’s very important, and you think you’d be disappointed not to continue the trend, my vote would go to [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] [name_m]Martin[/name_m]. If not, I really like the idea of [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] so that both you and DH get a beloved name. That seems like a great compromise.

Alright for nicknames for [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] I can completely help with that: [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_u]Jazz[/name_u], [name_m]Jas[/name_m], Jaspi, [name_u]Perry[/name_u], [name_m]Jax[/name_m] and [name_u]Pax[/name_u].

You could always sandwich all of them, [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Charles[/name_m] for example, would cover all bases and I think is probably one of the best options.

[name_m]Jasper[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Martin[/name_m]?

I have been team [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] all along–[name_m]Henry[/name_m]'s lovely, but [name_m]Charles[/name_m] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m] almost seems TOO classic, and I love that [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] and [name_m]Charles[/name_m] still fit just as well, but are more unexpected together? I think [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] looks perfect, but I feel like [name_m]Henry[/name_m] is about to be everywhere, if it isn’t yet. I think [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] is really delightful, but I’m big on family names, too, and if you’ve already done it for [name_m]Charles[/name_m], I wouldn’t want to stop it now. I’m the only one of my siblings not to really get a family name, and I always felt rather cheated because of it.

So from your options, I’m team [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] [name_m]Martin[/name_m]. It’s a ridiculously lovely combo, works so well with [name_m]Charles[/name_m] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m], honors family, is interesting, charming, and a really great pick. I mean, any of them are great picks, but I really love [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] [name_m]Martin[/name_m] for you.

Good luck!

I agree with this completely!

I don’t think [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] sounds anything like the popular J names. I love it and voted for it. But I do think [name_m]Henry[/name_m] is nice too.
I personally wouldn’t do [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Jasper[/name_m]. Though it is handsome. Giving my children middle names with family history means a lot to me. To me, middle names aren’t a spot to put your back up name but a spot to remind your children of where they came from. A name of a beloved family member that your child can look up to is more than just a name, it becomes part of their identity and legacy. You’ve passed down a significant family name to your first child, I think your 2nd child should receive the same.
Good luck. All 3 options sound fantastic.

Have you considered having two middles? [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] [name_m]Martin[/name_m] or [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Martin[/name_m] [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] or [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Martin[/name_m] or [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] [name_m]Martin[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m]?

Personally I adore [name_m]Jasper[/name_m]. It’s such a gorgeous name. I also really love [name_m]Henry[/name_m] and think it goes beautifully with [name_m]Charles[/name_m].

[name_m]Jasper[/name_m] [name_m]Martin[/name_m] is my favorite! I don’t think it’s too close to the other J names.

So, I think that the fact that [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] has a lack of nicknames is a pro, not a con! If you love the name [name_m]Jasper[/name_m], why would you want to find another name to call him? That’s kind of why I am leaning towards [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] [name_m]Martin[/name_m]. It seems that name ticks all the boxes for you. Personally, I don’t think [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] sounds close to [name_m]Jack[/name_m]/[name_m]Jackson[/name_m]/[name_u]James[/name_u]/[name_u]Jayden[/name_u], etc.

[name_m]Henry[/name_m] is a really lovely name and I also think [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] is a great compromise! [name_m]Even[/name_m] though he may not have a family middle name, he’ll have a name that both his parents love. However, that would eliminate any future uses of [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] if you were to have a third boy.

My final vote is [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] [name_m]Martin[/name_m].

While I love both [name_m]Henry[/name_m] and [name_m]Jasper[/name_m], I think [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] has the edge in your case. I find it more interesting as [name_m]Charles[/name_m]’ brother - [name_m]Henry[/name_m] almost feels expected. [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] has such a different feel to other J names such as [name_m]Jaydon[/name_m] and [name_m]Jared[/name_m]. I’d consider [name_m]Jack[/name_m] as a nn if you need one.
