And FINALLY, a proper list!

Please help us go through the pros and cons of this list that we were miraculously able to compile this weekend of names with nicknames that we can actually agree on and like for the twins. We would just like to avoid matching initials for the twins.

1-[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] “[name_f]Genie[/name_f]”

2-[name_f]Olympia[/name_f] “Opie” or “Opa”

3-[name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] “[name_f]Etta[/name_f]” or “[name_f]Hattie[/name_f]”

4-[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] “[name_f]Zaza[/name_f]” or “[name_u]Josie[/name_u]”

5-[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] ([name_m]Add[/name_m]-Eh-Lide) “[name_f]Heidi[/name_f]”

6-[name_f]Marjorie[/name_f] “[name_f]Margie[/name_f]”

7-[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] “[name_u]Clem[/name_u]” or “[name_f]Cleo[/name_f]”

8-[name_f]Philippa[/name_f] “[name_f]Pippa[/name_f]” or “[name_m]Pippin[/name_m]”

9-[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] “[name_f]Maggie[/name_f]” or “[name_f]Meg[/name_f]”

10-[name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f] “Opie”, “Opa” or “[name_f]Cassie[/name_f]”

**For middle names only: [name_f]Galilee[/name_f], [name_f]Galilea[/name_f], [name_f]Marilyn[/name_f], [name_f]Zelda[/name_f], [name_f]Hyacinth[/name_f], [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f], [name_f]Delilah[/name_f], [name_f]Mazarine[/name_f], [name_f]Margo[/name_f], [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_u]Indigo[/name_u].

1-[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] “[name_f]Genie[/name_f]” – I like this for your family, but not sure it is the best fit stylistically.

2-[name_f]Olympia[/name_f] “Opie” or “Opa” – This is my favorite for you guys! I think it is a perfect fit with the rest of your family.

3-[name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] “[name_f]Etta[/name_f]” or “[name_f]Hattie[/name_f]” – Really like this for you. It’s more classic like [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] but also currently pretty rare like your others. A nice bridge between all your names.

4-[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] “[name_f]Zaza[/name_f]” or “[name_u]Josie[/name_u]” – Also love this for you, because it’s classic like [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m]. [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t understand where you get [name_f]Zaza[/name_f] from, but I like it!

5-[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] ([name_m]Add[/name_m]-Eh-Lide) “[name_f]Heidi[/name_f]” – As much as I like [name_f]Heidi[/name_f], this would be a pronunciation nightmare, and I’m not sure about the fit with your other names.

6-[name_f]Marjorie[/name_f] “[name_f]Margie[/name_f]” – This one will always be dated to me. [name_m]Just[/name_m] not a fan.

7-[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] “[name_u]Clem[/name_u]” or “[name_f]Cleo[/name_f]” – I love the name [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], but it feels a little bit expected next to your other choices.

8-[name_f]Philippa[/name_f] “[name_f]Pippa[/name_f]” or “[name_m]Pippin[/name_m]” – My other favorite for your family. I think it’s a great bridge, just like [name_f]Henrietta[/name_f].

9-[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] “[name_f]Maggie[/name_f]” or “[name_f]Meg[/name_f]” – See [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]. These both feel like top ten names among hip, urban parents.

10-[name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f] “Opie”, “Opa” or “[name_f]Cassie[/name_f]” – This is a mouthful, but I could really see it as part of your family.

Overall, I’d keep: [name_f]Olympia[/name_f], [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_f]Henrietta[/name_f], [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] and [name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f]. Any combinations of those would be lovely.

I quite like the combination [name_f]Olympia[/name_f] and [name_f]Phillipa[/name_f], called Opie and [name_f]Pippa[/name_f]! I also like [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] and [name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] ([name_f]Meg[/name_f] and [name_f]Etta[/name_f]), but those names and nicknames feel a bit less spunky than your older childrens’ names.

As for middles I like:

[name_f]Olympia[/name_f] [name_f]Marilyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Phillipa[/name_f] [name_f]Hyacinth[/name_f]

[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] [name_f]Galilee[/name_f]
[name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] [name_f]Margo[/name_f]

My favourites are any 2 out of this group - I think any these would work well together as twins:
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
[name_f]Olympia[/name_f]
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f]
[name_f]Philippa[/name_f]

I think you could pair any 2 of this group as well (except the 2 'm’s)- a slightly different feel to me, perhaps slightly clunkier, less cool:
[name_f]Henrietta[/name_f]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Margorie[/name_f]
[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]
[name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f]
[name_f]Olympia[/name_f]
I think [name_f]Olympia[/name_f] would work with either group.

[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] [name_f]Margo[/name_f] and [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Galilee[/name_f]
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] and [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] [name_f]Marjorie[/name_f]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Margo[/name_f] and [name_f]Olympia[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Philippa[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] [name_f]Galilee[/name_f]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] and [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_f]Margo[/name_f]
[name_f]Olympia[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] and [name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f] [name_f]Margo[/name_f]

I love [name_f]Meg[/name_f] ([name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]) and [name_u]Clem[/name_u] ([name_f]Clementine[/name_f]) with your other children’s names—and I love that they’re both botanical names! Nice connection for the twins.

Also like [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] and [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] with [name_f]Clementine[/name_f].

Not a huge fan of [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] nn. [name_f]Heidi[/name_f], simply because I love [name_f]Heidi[/name_f] by itself (and the -ide pronunciation of [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] with need constant explaining, at least where I live).

1-[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] “[name_f]Genie[/name_f]” - awesome choice (my favourite for you) and [name_f]Genie[/name_f] is such a cute nickname.

2-[name_f]Olympia[/name_f] “Opie” or “Opa” - not a fan of Opie (it reminds me to opium) or Opa (because it means grandfather in a few different languages). [name_f]Olympia[/name_f] itself is quite lovely though. I’ll probably opt for [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] or even [name_f]Pia[/name_f].

3-[name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] “[name_f]Etta[/name_f]” or “[name_f]Hattie[/name_f]” - nms, but I can see the appeal.

4-[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] “[name_f]Zaza[/name_f]” or “[name_u]Josie[/name_u]” - I really like it. Maybe [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] and [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] for the twins?

5-[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] ([name_m]Add[/name_m]-Eh-Lide) “[name_f]Heidi[/name_f]” - I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the nn [name_f]Heidi[/name_f]. Overall lovely choice.

6-[name_f]Marjorie[/name_f] “[name_f]Margie[/name_f]” - nms.

7-[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] “[name_u]Clem[/name_u]” or “[name_f]Cleo[/name_f]” - another favourite. [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is just so light and cheery to me.

8-[name_f]Philippa[/name_f] “[name_f]Pippa[/name_f]” or “[name_m]Pippin[/name_m]” - I can definitely see this among your kids. And how come I’ve never thought of [name_m]Pippin[/name_m] for her nn? It’s super cute.

9-[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] “[name_f]Maggie[/name_f]” or “[name_f]Meg[/name_f]” - pretty. Would fit nicely in your sibset as well.

10-[name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f] “Opie”, “Opa” or “[name_f]Cassie[/name_f]” - I want to like this name more, but I am just… neutral toward it. I love the connection to the constellation, but not the queen. I’ll stick with [name_f]Cassie[/name_f]. Like I mentioned above, Opa seems awkward because it means grandfather.

Overall I favour [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f], [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f], [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] and [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f].

[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_f]Hyacinth[/name_f]
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_f]Galilee[/name_f]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Galilee[/name_f]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Delilah[/name_f]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Zelda[/name_f]
[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] [name_f]Mazarine[/name_f]
[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] [name_f]Margo[/name_f]
[name_f]Philippa[/name_f] [name_f]Marilyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Philippa[/name_f] [name_f]Zelda[/name_f]
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] [name_u]Indigo[/name_u]
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f]

I love [name_f]Olympia[/name_f] & [name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f], but I think [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] & [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] go together so perfectly I couldn’t get past the pair. [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] [name_f]Hyacinth[/name_f] & [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Galilee[/name_f] ‘[name_f]Heidi[/name_f] & [name_f]Cleo[/name_f]’ get my vote for twin girls.

[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]~ I don’t like this name but only because it was the name of a very mean girl in high school

[name_f]Olympia[/name_f]~ This is my favorite out of them all!! I love the nick name [name_u]Ollie[/name_u]

[name_f]Henrietta[/name_f]~ I don’t like this name at all, sorry

[name_f]Josephine[/name_f]~ This name is alright, but I do not like the name [name_f]Zaza[/name_f] because it sounds like a nickname for [name_m]Isaiah[/name_m]

[name_f]Marjorie[/name_f]~ I really really like this name, with the nickname [name_u]JoJo[/name_u]

[name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f]~ I actually really really love this name, although I dislike the nickname [name_f]Cassie[/name_f]

1- GenevieveGenie”: lovely. The right amount of fussiness/frilliness but also classy. 9/10

2-Olympia “Opie” or “Opa” = Opa means granddad in [name_m]German[/name_m] but I do like [name_f]Olympia[/name_f]/Opie. 7/10

3-HenriettaEtta” or “Hattie”: [name_u]Love[/name_u] it!! 10/10 strong but also feminine and pretty.

4-JosephineZaza” or “Josie” I don’t like it. It’s a bit lisping and weak imo. 3/10

5-Adelaide (Add-Eh-Lide) “Heidi”: very nice. Girly and upbeat: 8/10

6-MarjorieMargie”: [name_f]Margie[/name_f] just doesn’t sound nice imo, and it reminds me of the overweighted and mean aunt in [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m]. 4/10

7-ClementineClem” or “Cleo”: not San strong as [name_f]Henrietta[/name_f], [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] or [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]. But still very nice and feminine. But it does remind me of the song… 6/10

8-PhilippaPippa” or “Pippin”: lovely. Cute nicknames, spunky, clearly feminine and classy. 11/10. [name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] and [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] would sound nice together. Plus, there’s the younger Middleton sister, even if they do name a natural disaster [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] the name won’t be too tainted…

9-MagnoliaMaggie” or “Meg”: A very bland paint colour. But is a lovely name. 7/10

10-Cassiopeia “Opie”, “Opa” or “Cassie” [name_f]Lovely[/name_f]. Feminine, Mytholovial, nice nicknames. Really great :)!

**For middle names only: Galilee, Galilea, Marilyn, Zelda, Hyacinth, Cynthia, Delilah, Mazarine, Margo, Amelia and Indigo.

[name_f]Hyacinth[/name_f] is very Hyckinth Bucket and [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] reminds me of [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] children… [name_f]Marilyn[/name_f] is nice but a bit of a one person name imo… I like all your other middle names. [name_f]Celeste[/name_f], [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] and [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] are somewhat similar in my opinion :)![/i]

I vote for Henrietta and Philippa or Genevieve and Philippa

I love:

[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
[name_f]Henrietta[/name_f]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f]
[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]

Well my favorite name for you is [name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f], but I don’t really think she pairs up well with any of the other names on your list. The other names all seem a bit more standard, if you will. So you don’t like [name_f]Iphigenia[/name_f] for [name_f]Genie[/name_f], eh? Because twins named [name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f] and [name_f]Iphigenia[/name_f] would be stellar, [name_f]IMO[/name_f]. From your list my favorite set would be [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] and [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] - I like [name_f]Genie[/name_f] and [name_m]Pippin[/name_m] together as nns, and they both have that kick of fun energy that your other names have. Some of the other names are fine and sweet - [name_f]Hattie[/name_f], [name_f]Heidi[/name_f], etc…they just seem very normal to me and not really what I would have perhaps predicted you’d choose. (Nothing wrong with them, though). Anyway, that’s my two cents. Good luck - naming twins is almost as challenging/fun as having them, ha ha!
