Andrea?

What do you think of this name?

It feels very dated. I’m also not a fan due to association.

Its ok but doesn’t feel very special to me.

Same here, sorry.

I have known a few girls called [name_f]Ann[/name_f]-dree-uh and this feels a bit dated and makes me think of androgen.

I have known a few girls called On-drey-uh and I prefer this pronunciation by far. It feels much more sophisticated, less shrill to my ear. I think the nn Dre or [name_f]Drea[/name_f] are nice. [name_f]Drea[/name_f] feels modern to me, Dre might be a bit to masculine ala Dr., but I actually like it and like the association.

I am on the fence about the On-dree-uh pronunciation. I like it better than [name_f]Ann[/name_f]-dree-uh, but not nearly as much as I like On-drey-uh. I guess On-dree-uh I feel mostly neutral towards.

I also consider the 2 pronunciation thing to be a name flaw. It’s a bit confusing. For me I think this name is a lot like [name_f]Helena[/name_f]; very nice and has classic elements, but I really only like one of the possible pronunciations and wouldn’t want to spend my life correcting people.

I know an absolutely lovely [name_u]Andrea[/name_u], which gives it a nice feeling for me. I only know the one and she’s my age, so it’s never felt dated, but I think the one hang up is that it means manly.

It sounds a bit dated to me, but I actually like it. I’m a fan of the name [name_f]Alexandria[/name_f] with the nickname [name_f]Andria[/name_f].
