We are expecting a boy and we really want to name him after my father, [name]Andrew[/name]. We love the name and its special meaning to us. However some of our friends have commented that [name]Andrew[/name] somewhat rhymes with our last name and therefore we shouldn’t use it? My husband is Chinese and the last name is pronounced “loo” What do you think? His full name would be [name]Andrew[/name] [name]Richard[/name] [name]Lu[/name].
I don’t think [name]Andrew[/name] [name]Lu[/name] sounds bad at all… But you shouldn’t give him nn [name]Drew[/name]. [name]Drew[/name] [name]Lu[/name] is too much
[name]Will[/name] you give him a Chinese middle name? That whole part of the process was intriguing & confusing for us. My DH said he didn’t see the point in giving a Chinese name, but I felt it was important to honour his side of the family… And they were busy making a list for us to choose from anyway. So it ended up being his 2nd middle name.
We are debating the same thing! He will most likely have a Chinese name as well (DH’s parents are also helping us choose) but using it as a 2nd middle is a great idea!
