I am discovering a latent obsession with angel names. There’s just something about all those -ael and -iel endings…
[name]Do[/name] you have any favorite angel names? They can be mainstream like [name]Gabriel[/name] or [name]Michael[/name], obscure like Israfel, Hadraniel or Zadkiel, or similar to modern favorites, like Samael (my current favorite, meaning “medicine of God,” a perfect alternative to [name]Samuel[/name]!)

I can’t honestly think of a lot of angel names! I do like [name]Raphael[/name], and I think [name]Seraphim[/name] is gorgeous, but that’s not a particular one…
I’ve always loved the name Castiel but I feel like I can’t use it because of the popular character on the t.v. show Supernatural.
I also really like [name]Uriel[/name]!
Castiel and his name started me on this whole obsession in the first place! Unfortunately, his name was just made up for the show, but there is a “real” angel named [name]Cassiel[/name]…he’s the angel of solitude and tears, and some places list him among the seven archangels. Castiel is also one of the inspirations for our top boy’s name, [name]Caspian[/name], because it will give us the nickname [name]Cass[/name]
