Thoughts on the name [name_m]Angus[/name_m]?

Nope, I don’t think of meat. I had to actually wrack my brain a bit to figure out what you meant. I like [name_m]Angus[/name_m] and it fits with your signature.
Yes, too meaty for me. It also reminds me of the word “fungus” unfortunately. I prefer [name_u]August[/name_u].
It reminds me of a mixture between the beef and the word anus. Sorry to be blunt, but figured you’d want honest opinions. It’s not the worst name though.
I really love [name_m]Angus[/name_m]. Beef is probably my third thought when I look for associations, but not when I’m just thinking about it as a name. I met a 5 year old [name_m]Angus[/name_m] a few months back. He was adorable and I was delighted to hear his name used.
I think it’s totally fine! Not my style, but I think it is rather handsome. (Plus [name_m]Angus[/name_m] cows are gorgeous! Lol)
I like [name_m]Angus[/name_m] a lot actually. I don’t think meat is a conscious association, but to the extent that it does impact the name, I think it’s in a positive way. [name_m]Angus[/name_m] sounds a little tougher and less precious than other formal [name_u]Gus[/name_u] names (such as [name_u]August[/name_u]).

I’ll start by saying we live in the US. Yes, sorry, I think of angus beef. I am personally not too fond of the sound of the name. My best friend’s son has a friend named [name_m]Angus[/name_m] (he’s pre-teen). He really dislikes the name. Other kids have not been kind to him.
I love [name_m]Angus[/name_m]! The nickname [name_u]Gus[/name_u] is so handsome and a baby born in 2017 will be surrounded by other kids with very different names. I don’t think it will get made fun of at all. My personal association with this name is [name_m]Angus[/name_m] [name_m]Tuck[/name_m] from [name_m]Tuck[/name_m] Everlasting.
I think of beef and I think of [name_m]Angus[/name_m] [name_m]Young[/name_m] from ACDC. Then upon reading what some other people posted, I am thinking of other associations now.
A radio DJ where I live has a son name [name_m]Angus[/name_m], otherwise I have not heard this name on anyone other than [name_m]Angus[/name_m] [name_m]Young[/name_m].
I wouldn’t be able to get past the beef association, but that’s just me.

I really like the name [name_m]Angus[/name_m], nickname [name_u]Gus[/name_u], but I could never get over the beef association enough to actually use it.
I’m neutral on it, personally. But I don’t think the beef association would be a total dealbreaker for me
