Anna and Alice?

[name_f]Anna[/name_f] has quickly become one of my favorite girl names. I also adore the name [name_f]Alice[/name_f], but I wouldn’t want two of my kids to share a first initial, even in a hypothetical sibset. I thought of [name_f]Anna[/name_f], [name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_m]Henry[/name_m], [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], and [name_u]Elias[/name_u], but now I am thinking maybe [name_f]Anna[/name_f], [name_f]Elise[/name_f], [name_m]Henry[/name_m], [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], and [name_m]Jasper[/name_m]? I am not sure.

What are some [name_f]Alice[/name_f]-alternatives, Berries?

Thank you so much in advance.

I get where you’re coming from. It’s just so much more satisfying when you get the perfect sibset with no matching initials (and no matching endings for me too). I really love [name_f]Anna[/name_f], and [name_f]Alice[/name_f] is great as well, but they are quite similar. My first thought was [name_f]Cerys[/name_f] (KEH-riss) or [name_f]Carys[/name_f] (KA-riss) instead of [name_f]Alice[/name_f], but I think your second sibset idea with [name_f]Elise[/name_f] works well too.

I like both but lately [name_f]Anna[/name_f] is really winning over. Alternatives for [name_f]Alice[/name_f] are hard because it’s such a classic name - possible option is to look for international variations?

[name_f]Alice[/name_f] is closer to [name_u]Elias[/name_u] than [name_f]Anna[/name_f], and I would say the sibset doesn’t work because of that. I would trip over [name_f]Alice[/name_f] and [name_u]Elias[/name_u] constantly in the same sibset.

Both my brothers have B names, my sister and I do not. It is not a problem at all

If you still want an alternative to [name_f]Alice[/name_f] that isn’t too close to [name_u]Elias[/name_u], I would suggest
[name_f]Marie[/name_f] or [name_f]Mary[/name_f] or [name_f]Maria[/name_f]
[name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f] or [name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Celia[/name_f]
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f]
[name_f]Edith[/name_f]
[name_f]Faye[/name_f]
[name_f]Lily[/name_f]
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] or [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_f]Susannah[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Elise[/name_f] is also a good bet, but too close to [name_u]Elias[/name_u] as well…
Maybe [name_f]Iris[/name_f]? Still a little close to [name_u]Elias[/name_u], but doesn’t have the L so it works a little better.

@myosotis, [name_f]Cerys[/name_f] is beautiful! Thank you so much for the suggestion and the input.
@prudencea, thank you so much! I will look for some international variations. That is a fantastic idea!
@dearest, thank you so much. [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], [name_f]Cora[/name_f], [name_f]Tessa[/name_f], [name_f]Faye[/name_f], [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Louisa[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Susannah[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f], and [name_f]Iris[/name_f] are all absolutely stunning! Thank you so much!
