Anna and Asta

Good evening fellow berries!
Going through my namelists I realized just how similar two of my favourite names ([name]Anna[/name] and [name]Asta[/name], as the title indicates) are. And not that I am planning on having children in the nearest future (or before ten-fifteen years time from now) or anything, but do you guys think that [name]Anna[/name] and [name]Asta[/name] would be too ridiculously close?

[name]Both[/name] names have a significant meaning to me, [name]Anna[/name] was the name of my grandmother’s aunt who was basically like a great-grandmother to me, and [name]Asta[/name] is for an old lady I knew when I was a kid, who I used to visit almost everyday. I’m not sure I’d actually call an [name]Anna[/name] by that name because I really love the combination [name]Anna[/name] [name]Ingrid[/name] [name]Alexandra[/name], and I think I’d use [name]Ingrid[/name] as a nickname of sorts. Bah, this became really long, much longer than it was meant to be

I like [name]Anna[/name], but [name]Asta[/name] will always remind me of the dog in the Thin [name]Man[/name] movies.

[name]Haven[/name]'t seen that one.
[name]Anna[/name] and [name]Asta[/name] both are names that would be considered old lady names here.

I think they’d be too close for a sibling set. But you could name a girl [name]Anastasia[/name], that’s kind of got them both in there

[name]Anastasia[/name] is a very beautiful name but I will always associate it to Grand Duchess [name]Anastasia[/name] of [name]Russia[/name], and despite her wonderful personality, I really just can’t see the name one anyone else than her. Thanks for your suggestion though

I prefer [name]Anna[/name] [name]Ingrid[/name] [name]Alexandra[/name]. I think [name]Ingrid[/name] is fantastic and [name]Anna[/name] is simply classic. Maybe you could use [name]Asta[/name] as a middle name for daughter #2!

[name]Anna[/name] and [name]Asta[/name] are too close but if you’d call [name]Anna[/name] by her middle name, I think it could be doable.

That could definitely be an opportunity, and then the (potential) second could just go by [name]Asta[/name] if the (potential) first was to go by [name]Ingrid[/name]. That’s was a very good idea, can’t believe I haven’t thought of that, thanks

That was what I was thinking because, if things were to go after my mind (when do they ever), [name]Anna[/name] would just go by [name]Ingrid[/name] (and perhaps the [name]Anna[/name] nickname, [name]Nancy[/name]). Ugh, I think about this currently irrelevant problem waaaay too much

They have a rather distinct feel to them - [name]Anna[/name] is a classic while [name]Asta[/name] is very European. I don’t think they are ridiculously close for siblings.
