Are [name]Anna[/name] and [name]Emma[/name] too similar sounding for twin girls? I really like [name]Anna[/name] “[name]Annie[/name]” and normally I wouldn’t use [name]Emma[/name] because of it’s high popularity, but I’ve really been liking the two together. My older girls are [name]Ruby[/name] & [name]Lucy[/name]. I am also really liking [name]Sadie[/name] & [name]Molly[/name] together which is a lot less “matchy”. Other possibilities are [name]Amy[/name] & [name]Annie[/name] and [name]Molly[/name] & [name]Maggie[/name] if we decide to do the same letter thing, which I’m not that into at the moment. My husband likes [name]Daisy[/name] & [name]Poppy[/name], but that seems way over the top to me. No one really replied to my last post and I’ve read lots of concern over “fake” pregnancies, especially twins and other multiples, so I promise it’s real and no one is more surprised that me.
[name]Ruby[/name] & [name]Lucy[/name] with [name]Sadie[/name] & [name]Molly[/name] is too cute. I would stick with retro/vintage names that end in the ee sound.
[name]Annie[/name]
[name]Betsy[/name]
[name]Betty[/name]
[name]Hattie[/name]
[name]Kitty[/name]
So if you decide to do the same letter thing, which I’m not that into either you could do [name]Betsy[/name] and [name]Betty[/name] or [name]Molly[/name] and [name]Maggie[/name], I don’t think [name]Amy[/name] really fits.
I like [name]Sadie[/name] and [name]Molly[/name] best.
I do find [name]Anna[/name] and [name]Emma[/name] quite matchy for twins, although it’s probably because they’re both short, both end in “A”, both have similar sounding double-letters in the middle, with a soft vowel in front–I agree they could get easily confused. Plus, they usually make the most popular twinset lists each year on the SSA site (along with pairings like [name]Olivia[/name] and [name]Oliver[/name], [name]Jayden[/name] and [name]Jayda[/name], [name]Jayden[/name] and [name]Kayden[/name], etc.). I think [name]Annie[/name] and [name]Emma[/name] are much better and are fine, actually, though. What about just [name]Annie[/name]? I usually wouldn’t suggest it, but I think it works really well with the short-and-sweet [name]Ruby[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name]. I think [name]Ruby[/name], [name]Lucy[/name], [name]Annie[/name], and [name]Emma[/name] would be great for three sisters.
I think [name]Sadie[/name] and [name]Molly[/name] are sweet, but not really my taste–I like [name]Annie[/name] and [name]Emma[/name] much more. If you don’t usually love [name]Emma[/name], though, I would caution you to think seriously about it–it’s not like [name]Annie[/name] and [name]Emma[/name] would be a pair that are always together. [name]Emma[/name] would be her own little person, and while I think it’s great to have twin names that work well together, I wouldn’t put more focus on that than truly loving both twins names. I think [name]Amy[/name] is lovely, but [name]Annie[/name] and [name]Amy[/name] are much too matchy for twins imo. I think something like [name]Anna[/name]/[name]Annie[/name] and [name]Sadie[/name] or [name]Anna[/name]/[name]Annie[/name] and [name]Molly[/name] would be great, and work well with [name]Lucy[/name] and [name]Ruby[/name], too. What about [name]Lottie[/name]? I think that’s lovely, and something like [name]Annie[/name] and [name]Lottie[/name] would be adorable with [name]Lucy[/name] and [name]Ruby[/name].
Good luck!
I don’t think you should [name]Emma[/name] as a name for one of your twins if you wouldn’t use it if it wasn’t paired with [name]Anna[/name], plus I think having twins names ending in the same sound, like like ‘uh’ in [name]Emma[/name] and [name]Anna[/name] or ‘ee’ in [name]Molly[/name] and [name]Sadie[/name] is matchy (which I don’t like but that is just my opinion) and possibly confusing.
So what about [name]Anna[/name] and [name]Molly[/name], or [name]Anna[/name] and [name]Sadie[/name]? I think these would make lovely twins and it in well [name]Ruby[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name].
[name]Anna[/name] and [name]Emma[/name] are pretty close even if you are going to use [name]Annie[/name] as a nn. I like the suggestion of [name]Anna[/name] and [name]Molly[/name] or [name]Sadie[/name]. Also, what about [name]Anna[/name] and [name]Esme[/name], [name]Ellen[/name], [name]Edith[/name], [name]Elise[/name], [name]Beth[/name], [name]Tess[/name], [name]Nell[/name], [name]Phoebe[/name], [name]Clare[/name], [name]Rose[/name], [name]Jane[/name], [name]Grace[/name], [name]Ruth[/name], or [name]Mae[/name]? These all work well with your sibset.
My vote is def for [name]Sadie[/name] and [name]Molly[/name]!!! So sweet with [name]Ruby[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name]!
[name]Sadie[/name] and [name]Molly[/name] are perfect! [name]Anna[/name] and [name]Emma[/name] are pretty matchy but I could deal with that if you weren’t going to call [name]Anna[/name] “[name]Annie[/name]” which would leave [name]Emma[/name] out of the “ee” ending sound pattern of the rest of the girls. To me, that would be the biggest problem with [name]Anna[/name] and [name]Emma[/name]. Also, [name]Anna[/name] and [name]Emma[/name] are both pretty popular and have a soft image, whereas [name]Ruby[/name] is more fiery. [name]Sadie[/name] and [name]Molly[/name] would fit in way better. Good luck!
I know the “ee” ending for four girls would be a little cheesy, but my husband thinks that they all need to “go together”.
If I am allowed to mix and match, my absolute favorite twinset out of these names would be [name]Anna[/name] “[name]Annie[/name]” and [name]Sadie[/name]. Simply adorable!
And congratulations to you btw. [name]Both[/name] of your daughters have such beautiful names. I’m sorry if you feel like some people are not taking you seriously, I am on my way to search back through and comment on some of your other threads right now! =]
I do think that [name]Anna[/name] and [name]Emma[/name] are too close in sound, but if you are going call [name]Anna[/name] “[name]Annie[/name]” then I don’t think it is a problem! [name]Annie[/name] and [name]Emma[/name] are awfully cute together!
I’m not loving [name]Anna[/name] and [name]Emma[/name], but [name]Annie[/name] and [name]Emma[/name] definitely works and is cute! [name]Ruby[/name], [name]Lucy[/name], [name]Annie[/name] and [name]Emma[/name]. I also love the name [name]Molly[/name], but I don’t love it paired with [name]Sadie[/name]. This is probably not your style, but how about [name]Victoria[/name], nn [name]Tori[/name] (or [name]Vicky[/name]). [name]Molly[/name] and [name]Tori[/name] are a super cute pair! [name]How[/name] about [name]Anna[/name] and [name]Molly[/name]? or [name]Annie[/name] and [name]Molly[/name]? Those names work, and you seem to really like both.
I actually agree with your husband, that [name]Daisy[/name] & [name]Poppy[/name] is a beautiful twin-set, but it is quite cutesy (which I don’t mind, really.) [name]Ruby[/name], [name]Lucy[/name], [name]Molly[/name] and [name]Sadie[/name] is nice, but somehow it bothers me that 3 of the names end in -y, and one in -ie, even though it’s the same sound. I think the look of it just bothers me. I also don’t think that you should use [name]Emma[/name], if you wouldn’t use it if it wasn’t paired with [name]Anna[/name]. They’re individual people, and you should love their names individually.
