Looking for a name for a baby girl 2. Just starting out. I know my husband loves the name Maureen for family reasons. I’m not as much a fan. We have sooo many Mary variants already in our family (Maryellen, Maria, an actual Mary, Maren, Miriam, Maeve, Mary), and specifically 3 existing Maureens.
I like short, sweet names Eve/Eva, Lily, Marley, Lynette, Josie, Mae, Rose, Joy, Elaine. Hubs likes classics. If pressed beyond Maureen he’d volunteer Elizabeth, Helen, and Theresa.
My kids are Anna Dorothy and Ryan William so far.
Lemme have ideas, FN and MN!! If Maureen plays a part without ACTUALLY being redundant to our many existing Mary names that’d be great. Mae itself it close to my heart but I’m not sure how to use it unless as a southern sounding Lola-Mae type thing.
I think you should stink with the theme you have going! [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] and [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] [name_u]William[/name_u] are both 11 letters, so maybe [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Maureen[/name_f]? I LOVE the nickname [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]!
Could [name_f]Maureen[/name_f] be a middle name? I appreciate wanting to honour family and I am a sucker for family names so maybe that could satisfy hubby. I like @PerryWillow suggestion of [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Maureen[/name_f] along with keeping to the 11 letters theme!
From your list I also love [name_f]Rose[/name_f] I think [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Maureen[/name_f] would be very classic and keeping with the 11 letter theme. From the names mentioned I also like Eve/Eva, [name_u]Josie[/name_u], [name_f]Mae[/name_f] which I think works as a first name without any hyphenating something like [name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] would be lovely, [name_f]Joy[/name_f] and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. I like [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] too could be a cool ‘Mary’ alternative.
Anyways moving away from the names listed I think a good place to start would be keeping to the 11 letter theme and having [name_f]Maureen[/name_f] as a middle name. Keeping [name_f]Maureen[/name_f] as the middle name would satisfy hubby (hopefully maybe) along with honouring family and then you get your short sweet name upfront.

Mairin is the Irish/Gaelic version of [name_f]Maureen[/name_f] if you want something different, meaning little [name_f]Mary[/name_f]. Another idea for a middle name related to [name_f]Mary[/name_f] is [name_u]Marie[/name_u], which pairs well with middle name [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f].
