So I have always loved the name [name_f]Anna[/name_f]. However, I’m constantly back and forth about using it in the future because my future children’s grandmother goes by [name_u]Nana[/name_u] with her grandchildren, and it would rhyme. Would that be odd or too confusing? What do you all think? Would you use it if this was your situation?
I don’t think it’s an issue, esp if you love the name a lot⭐
I think a bunch of Annas have had Nanas!
I have an [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and my mom goes by [name_u]Nana[/name_u]. Not an issue at all! Actually, it’s kind of special. She does go by [name_f]Annie[/name_f] as well.
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] is gorgeous. I agree, [name_u]Nana[/name_u] is so common as a grandma name that I don’t find it weird or confusing at all.
Are you open to calling her [name_f]Annie[/name_f] or will you stick to [name_f]Anna[/name_f]? Would you consider a double barrel name? Perhaps, Anna-Mae or Anna-Lee, [name_f]Anna[/name_f]- [name_f]Leah[/name_f], [name_f]Annalise[/name_f], [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f], [name_f]Annelie[/name_f]? What about [name_f]Suzanna[/name_f]? [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f]? [name_f]Marianna[/name_f]?
How often will your grandchildren be with [name_u]Nana[/name_u]? Does she live nearby, or will she visit only occasionally?
Not an issue I reckon. I have a son and his name rhymes with (his) [name_u]Nana[/name_u]. It’s a great talking point and cute rather than an issue. Good luck!
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] is lovely! I don’t think it’s an issue
I’ve considered using an [name_f]Anna[/name_f] name but one of the qualities I love about [name_f]Anna[/name_f] is the simplicity.
Their nana would be about a 30 minute drive away and would most likely be seeing her a few times a month.
Thanks for your response
I agree with @hellobanjo i believe a lot of Anna’s have nana’s so I don’t think it’s an issue at all
Thank you everyone for your replies. I feel a little better about the idea of using [name_f]Anna[/name_f] one day. I guess it’s not as big of an issue as I was thinking
Not an issue at all, and [name_f]Anna[/name_f] is a lovely name.
I don’t think it’s confusing at all. I think [name_f]Anna[/name_f] is a lovely name, and if you’re super worried about confusion, you could give her a longer version of [name_f]Anna[/name_f] to fall back on.
