Is [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] redundant?? I remember learning that [name_f]Anna[/name_f] means [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. So [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] would obviously be like the two same words? But when I look up meaning of [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] it days ‘loving’ or ‘lovable.’ So [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] would seem ok. But do you think it sounds silly? People here obviously know more about names than the average person but I don’t want to give a child a name that sounds dumb.
I don’t think it’s redundant. Not like [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] or something. [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] doesn’t mean the same as [name_f]Anna[/name_f], so I think you’re fine. I know a little girl named [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. However, I think it’s a little out of place with your sibset. BUT, if you love it, that’s all that matters.
I think it is beautiful.
Ok thanks. I keep hearing feedback that [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] doesn’t match w/ Mhairi and [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] but I’m not really sure why. They’re all Scottish…they all feel very feminine and soft to me? I really like the honest feedback, just trying to understand what it is that makes [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] stand out.
I think the distinguishing factor is the popularity. [name_f]Annabel[/name_f]/[name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] is more mainstream than Mhairi or [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]. I also think Mhairi and [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] just appear more Scottish by nature than [name_f]Annabel[/name_f]. Does that make sense? Anyway, I think it would be fine anyway.
I also know someone called [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is a lovely combination! I do agree that [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] feels a little different (but I don’t think it feels out of place) - I think [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] with Mhairi seems very Scottish, and therefore makes [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] feel less Scottish as a result. But had [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] been paired with something like [name_f]Agnes[/name_f], [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] would feel much more fitting. I think it’s the way [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] and Mhairi are so different from one another - however, I think [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] is a mid-point between the two and therefore I definitely think they would all work as siblings
