Which spelling of Annabelle do you prefer? Do you think that Annabelle is too frilly? And, for middle names, do you think Annabelle Josephine is too long? I also like Annabelle Mae but prefer Josephine. Thanks
I prefer the more polised [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] spelling. It “looks” like one name whereas [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] looks like a smoosh of two names ([name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_f]Belle[/name_f]). [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] is too frilly and fussy looking for my taste. I think [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] is the prettiest combo. I like a shorter mn with [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] for balance.
[name_f]Annabel[/name_f] for sure. If DF and I could have agreed on [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] that would have been the spelling. [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] would have been our combo so I have to give my vote to [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] for you.
I like [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] better but I usually prefer the longer spelling of names that have more than one legitimate option ([name_f]Juliette[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]; [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] instead of [name_u]Elliot[/name_u]; etc.).
I like how it looks more balanced, you have two "l"s which balance out the two "n"s .
I also like how it looks more girly without being over the top frilly.
[name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] is such a gorgeous name and from your options I like it best paired with [name_f]Mae[/name_f], since [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] also has 3-syllables which doesn’t create the perfect flow for me!
[name_f]Annabel[/name_f], and I think it’s very sweet with [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]! They don’t have the same rhythm, so it flows fine to my ear.
I prefer [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f]. [name_m]Even[/name_m] better is [name_f]Annabella[/name_f], if you would consider that. [name_f]Annabella[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] and [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] are both cute!
[name_f]Annabel[/name_f]/[name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] isn’t my cup of tea but between the two I much prefer [name_f]Anabel[/name_f]. It is feminine and not overly frilly. Although I really like [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] I think a shorter middle like [name_f]Mae[/name_f] goes best.
I prefer [name_f]Annabel[/name_f].
Personally I love both variations. It just depends on what mood I’m in and what I’m going for. When I was craving a frilly southern-feeling confection that felt princessy, [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] totally fit the bill. When I wanted something that felt a bit more exotic ( to me), traditional Scottish, smart and streamlined and even a little mysterious (thank you [name_u]Poe[/name_u]) then [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] is what I went for.
Unfortunately for me my family does not share my love for both versions. They find the only thing mysterious about the [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] spelling to be “what happened to the missing letters?” or “why did you misspell [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f]?” Needless to say, [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] seems less familiar to the people I know.
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is nice.
I prefer the [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] spelling. Something about it is more down to earth and sweet. [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] is a loud southern belle.
I prefer [name_f]Annabel[/name_f]. I really like [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] and [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f].
[name_f]Annabel[/name_f].
But [name_f]Arabel[/name_f] is best
I have [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] on my list because I tend to prefer longer/french version ([name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Isabel[/name_f], [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], etc). And I know I want to have [name_f]Belle[/name_f] somewhere on my first daughter name. It’s a sentimental, personal association.
However, as a name I actually prefer [name_f]Annabel[/name_f]. [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] is [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] for me, but I (from time to time) see [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] as [name_f]Anna[/name_f]+[name_f]Belle[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f]. So except you have particular reason to love -belle names (like me), I say go for [name_f]Annabel[/name_f].
I prefer [name_f]Annabel[/name_f]. [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is beautiful. No, I do not find [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] too frilly. I know other’s find names like these frilly, I find them very versatile. You can use the full name and they also come with so many different options of nicknames.
[name_f]Annabel[/name_f] is def my preference! It’s actually at the top of my list right now! [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] to me is too frilly. Yet even though [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] is pronounced the same, the spelling just seems to make it so much nicer! [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] is cute but [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] seems more sophisticated and pretty! Either choice is great though.
Definitely [name_f]Annabel[/name_f]. [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] seems unnecessarily frilly. [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] works much better; the name is long enough without adding extra unnecessary letters. [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] is sweet as well.
If you choose to go with [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f], I would pick [name_f]Mae[/name_f] over [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]. [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] just has too many letters–it’s visually confusing to me.
