I adore the names Anna and Rosa/Rose and rather than choosing between them thought I would consider using both if this baby is a girl.
Our other children have only the one middle name (family honour names) so I can’t imagine getting to use the unused name in the middle as a second middle name and last baby so won’t be saving names for future daughters.
Which way around is best for a double first name (and why if you have time)
- Anna-Rosa/Anna-Rose/ Annarosa
- Rose-Anna/Rosa-Anna/Rosanna
- Just use one name and not bother with a complicated double first name with siblings Maria, Lena and Gabriel
I think [name_f]Rosanna[/name_f] flows more easily

[name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Anna[/name_f] are two of my favourites as well! Personally I think either one on its own would be better than a smoosh, but if you do decide to smoosh, definitely [name_f]Rosanna[/name_f] - it just sounds smoother (although I know one and she’s lovely so I’m biased).

I actually like an option that’s not there - Annarose, all one word. But failing that, [name_f]Rosanna[/name_f]

I absolutely love [name_f]Rosanna[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosanna[/name_f] is beautiful!! She’s romantic, summery, elegant and has a dreamy quality to her. I adore [name_f]Rosanna[/name_f]. [name_f]My[/name_f] godmother is Italian and this name is within her family (repeated a few times my godmother also has Rossana in her family the Italian form of Roxana) and honestly I’ve always loved it. For me [name_f]Rosanna[/name_f] doesn’t feel like a smoosh name she feels more established whereas Annarose feels more of a smoosh option. Anyways all of the options are lovely but [name_f]Rosanna[/name_f] is definitely my favourite

I love both names, separately and together
One of my daughters is [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and i considered giving her [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] as a middle name. I think the two names go well together in either order

I like Anna-Rose/Annarose or Rosanna. I’m not keen on Anna-Rosa.
Rosanna is more straightforward and goes marginally better with the other girls’ names, but Anna-Rose rounds off the set so nicely when you say the list. Rosanna is more likely to get Rosie from friends, and Anna-Rose, probably just Anna or Annie - which might help your decision. I would probably use Annarose over Anna-Rose just to lessen chance that Rose gets dropped from the name.

With the other kids’ names, definitely [name_f]Rosanna[/name_f]. It flows better and feels more cohesive with the shorter names, whereas Annarosa feels like 2 separate names. [name_f]Rosanna[/name_f] is beautiful. The only other thing I’d say is she’s likely to get nicknamed with a long name like [name_f]Rosanna[/name_f] and Annarosa, and I think [name_f]Rosanna[/name_f] would turn into Rose/Rosie whereas Annarosa would be Anna/Annie, so if that matters to you, you might want to take that into account. Then again, I think you could totally pull off a [name_f]Rosanna[/name_f] “Annie” or Annarosa “Rose” etc.
