This is a tough one, because - in your shoes - I would be debating the same thing. I think it could go either way. A combination of [name]Anne[/name] & [name]Marie[/name] ([name]Annemarie[/name]) is quite well known. However, she would have to always assist people in spelling it as [name]Annemarie[/name], as they might spell it [name]AnneMarie[/name], [name]Anne[/name] [name]Marie[/name], [name]Ann[/name] [name]Marie[/name], or [name]Annmarie[/name] instead. For that reason, I might be inclined to just use first name: [name]Anne[/name], & middle name: [name]Marie[/name]. However, there is something appealing about using [name]Annemarie[/name] and then giving her a separate middle name that will give her additional name options:
[name]Annemarie[/name] [name]Violet[/name]
[name]Annemarie[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Annemarie[/name] [name]Claire[/name]

BTW, I really [name]LOVE[/name] your other children’s names!!!

Thanks for the compliment =)

The spelling issue is there although since we went with less common (although equally traditional) spellings for Cl@re and K@th@rine it probably isn’t a deal breaker.

I’m worried that when [name]Anne[/name] [name]Marie[/name] is broken up it becomes somehow like any other first name with the middle name [name]Marie[/name]. It’s the same reason I’ve given up on the double barrel [name]Mary[/name] names as I don’t want her to just be [name]Mary[/name]. With [name]Annemarie[/name] it’s a little different as I really love [name]Annie[/name] and don’t see just being [name]Anne[/name] as a big problem.

I think if I fall in love with the right middle name for [name]Annemarie[/name] I would go for it together. Our last name is Tys0n if that helps with suggestions.

Being a southern girl, I know a lot of “double named” people, aka people who go by their first and middle names (like [name]Kathy[/name] [name]Jo[/name] or [name]Bobby[/name] [name]Joe[/name]). I personally know 2 [name]Anne[/name] [name]Maries[/name] – one spells it just like that (as two names) and one hyphenates it as a first name ([name]Anne[/name]-[name]Marie[/name]). On the other hand, I also know an [name]Annabelle[/name], who also has a middle name.

DH and I have a similar issue with Annaclaire (or [name]Anna[/name] [name]Claire[/name] or Anaclaire), so I totally understand where you’re coming from. I think we’ve decided on Anaclaire (or Annaclaire) as one name because we want to use [name]Marie[/name] as a middle name to honor his mother/grandmother. So, I think if you have a middle name that you want to use, then go with [name]Annamarie[/name] (or [name]Anne[/name]-[name]Marie[/name]). But, if you’d just be throwing in a middle name just to have something, then I think [name]Anne[/name] [name]Marie[/name] is perfectly acceptable.
