There’s actually a Spurgeon?! I thought J’whatshername (Jana, Joy-Anna, [name_f]Johannah[/name_f], [name_u]Jubilee[/name_u], [name_u]Josie[/name_u], etc.) made that up.

[name_m]Gilbert[/name_m]
[name_m]Wright[/name_m]
[name_m]Eben[/name_m]
[name_m]Harmon[/name_m]
[name_u]Jem[/name_u]
[name_u]Owen[/name_u]
[name_m]Kenneth[/name_m]
[name_m]Ford[/name_m]

I love [name_u]Billy[/name_u], [name_m]Eben[/name_m], [name_m]Kenneth[/name_m], and Owen!! I’m also ready to see a [name_u]Walter[/name_u] comeback.

[name_m]Matthew[/name_m] is less my style but it totally works for a current baby.

[name_m]Wright[/name_m] would be a cool choice too- occupational surnames are in and so are cool one syllable names, so it totally fits. I guess it could be annoying to hear your name every time somebody says ‘right’ or ‘write’ though

I try never to think of those J people!

I adore [name_m]Eben[/name_m] and [name_m]Harmon[/name_m] myself - so sturdy. And [name_m]Wright[/name_m] is cool, I agree. It was my Grandpa’s middle name.

[name_m]Wright[/name_m] is cool and [name_u]Walter[/name_u] is trending and [name_m]Kenneth[/name_m] is usable.

The other seem either overrated or dated IMO. But that’s just me.

I like:

[name_u]Billy[/name_u] - zippy and cool - maybe an acquired taste, but I like it
[name_m]Eben[/name_m] - gentle, warm and sparky
[name_u]Jem[/name_u] - wonderful and gentle but packs the punch
[name_m]Kenneth[/name_m] - rugged and has that -th ending!
[name_m]Ford[/name_m] - charming and cool

( also, i don’t hate cuthbert :person_shrugging: i think it could be a fun character name, like, an impossibly clunky name. thinking sibs like cuthbert, hortensia, eustace, and gertrude )

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_m]Cuthbert[/name_m] and his sibs!

I’ve always adored the nickname [name_u]Jem[/name_u], ever since reading the [name_u]Anne[/name_u] books as a kid! I’d love to see it make a comeback as a short form of James…

Other names from the list that I really like are [name_u]Roy[/name_u] & [name_u]Owen[/name_u]

I love so many of these! My favorites are Gilbert, Fred (two of my all-time favorites), Cuthbert, Roy, Jim, Jem, Walter, and Owen. I’ve never really thought about Wright before but I quite like it!

In the books he’s a boy in Anne’s class (: full name is Moody Spurgeon Macpherson, quite the name! :joy:
