Anne: Too simple for a first name?

What do you think of the name [name]Anne[/name]? Is it too simple for a first name?

What would you think if you were to be introduced to an infant or toddler named [name]Anne[/name]?

What is your opinion on the combo Anne Eulalie?

Thanks!

[name]Anne[/name] is a classic and timeless name that doesn’t seem to get the same respect of her sisters [name]Elizabeth[/name] and [name]Katherine[/name]. Perhaps it’s because it was such a “filler” middle name for so long that it fell out of fashion. I think it would be quite refreshing to hear someone call a young girl [name]Anne[/name] (you can always give her the nn [name]Annie[/name] if you want to). The name’s sweetness and simplicity is part of its charm for me. [name]Anne[/name] [name]Eulalie[/name] is very pretty.

I would personally love to meet a little [name]Anne[/name] I’ve really been liking it a lot myself lately. I think it’s classic and simple and sweet, but ages perfectly well. Go for it! And I do like [name]Anne[/name] [name]Eulalie[/name].

I think [name]Anne[/name] is gorgeous, timeless, and has a great literary character in [name]Anne[/name] of [name]Green[/name] Gables. I say go for it!

I think [name]Anne[/name] is beautiful, I’m not as sure about [name]Eulalie[/name]. It kind of feels hard to say to me because of all of the vowels between the two, but I’ve never heard of [name]Eulalie[/name] before, so maybe it sounds strange because it’s new for me. Good luck!

I love [name]Anne[/name] [name]Eulalie[/name]. And [name]Annie[/name] is such a cute nickname for a little girl

Too short? No way. [name]Anne[/name] is classic, pretty and uncomplicated. It’s my favorite one syllable name besides [name]Claire[/name]. I like [name]Eulalie[/name] too.

I like [name]Anna[/name] much, much better! :).

As a first name, yes, I think it is lovely, but far too often people just use it as a middle name hence why I think it gets a bad rap. If you use a short, classic name like [name]Anne[/name] as the first name, then I’d use a more unusual, multi-syllabic name [such as the one you picked out] as the middle.

Yes, I like the name combo.

I like [name]Anne[/name] a lot, and there’s NOTHING wrong with simple! But i’m not sure about pairing it with [name]Eulalie[/name], i think a middle name that starts with a consonant would work better - although there’s nothing wrong with [name]Eulalie[/name] itself.

I have a sister-in-law named [name]Anne[/name] and consider it to be a very fine name.

I love it, a firm favorite of mine.

Sometimes simple charm is best!

I love [name]Anne[/name]. Dh prefers [name]Anna[/name]. But I love [name]Anne[/name]. It would probably be my pick for a girl but dh really has his heart set on [name]Andrew[/name] and I can’t have both.

You all are so helpful!

It seems that [name]Anne[/name] has the ability to fit in the first name slot and to fill it well. Thanks!

[name]Anne[/name] is classic and ravishing. Very underused. If I met a young [name]Anne[/name] I would assume her parents have very good taste.

I would give her a feminine, frilly middle name, lest she look around her classroom of Savannahs and Isabellas and feel a bit plain. [name]Eulalie[/name] is nice (you know the meaning, right? Watch out for those sassy tween years), though the UUU sound isn’t too fashionable in the US, and it can be a tongue-twister for some.

No it’s not too simple! Please please use [name]Anne[/name] [name]Eulalie[/name]! It’s so lovely.

If I met a baby/toddler [name]Anne[/name] I’d be so impressed. Personally, I don’t think I love it enough to use it but it’s still a great, underused name. I can imagine it rising in popularity in 10-15 years.

[name]Anne[/name] [name]Eulalie[/name] is gorgeous! [name]Anne[/name] is certainly NOT too simple for a first name.

My almost 2 year old daughter is named [name]Anne[/name], and I love it. It is so simple and elegant and I love the connection to [name]Anne[/name] of [name]Green[/name] Gables. We call her [name]Annie[/name] much of the time and she has wild curly hair and it really suits her. I am so pleased we went with it. It actually stands out a lot more than you would think amid all of the trendy and even vintage-trendy names.

[name]Love[/name] [name]Anne[/name], [name]Anna[/name] and [name]Annie[/name]. All classic and sweet and certainly usable as a first name.

I really love [name]Anne[/name] I have really good memories of reading [name]Anne[/name] of [name]Green[/name] Gables. Plus it’s a classic, sweet name.
But I hate the name [name]Ann[/name].
