Annie or Winnie?

Which and why?

[name_f]Annie[/name_f] or [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]?

[name_f]Winnie[/name_f] is cute but I prefer [name_f]Annie[/name_f]. Although I prefer [name_f]Anne[/name_f] and [name_f]Anna[/name_f], [name_f]Anna[/name_f] being my favorite.

[name_f]Winnie[/name_f] by far. [name_f]Annie[/name_f] is a plainer version of an already plain name ([name_f]Ann[/name_f]) - little orphan [name_f]Annie[/name_f], [name_f]Annie[/name_f] get your gun. It’s also just a very young name. (I do like [name_f]Anna[/name_f], though.) [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] is fresher and more interesting, but still sweet and respectable - I can imagine it on a little girl, a young woman, and a mature woman.

I like both, but I prefer [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]. [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] has more spunk and is really fresh imo whereas [name_f]Annie[/name_f] still sounds dated (it’s still cute though).

[name_f]Annie[/name_f] is a personal favorite! I like [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] too.

[name_f]Winnie[/name_f]…

[name_f]Winnie[/name_f]! But I would use a more formal name with [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] as a nn…

[name_f]Winnie[/name_f]…

I think that [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] has a lot more to offer rather than [name_f]Annie[/name_f].

While [name_f]Annie[/name_f] is cute, it is definitely still dated. [name_f]Ann[/name_f]/[name_f]Anne[/name_f]/[name_f]Anna[/name_f]/[name_f]Anya[/name_f]/[name_f]Ana[/name_f], the list goes on. There are so many similar, plain names out there with the same exact sound. I don’t picture a unique, headstrong young girl, despite the fictional “little orphan [name_f]Annie[/name_f]” namesake affiliation. I just picture a sea of “An-some typical ending”, which is the opposite of what I expect any parent wants for their child.

[name_f]Winnie[/name_f] is a breath of fresh air. While [name_f]Annie[/name_f] is most commonly a nickname for [name_f]Anne[/name_f] or [name_f]Ann[/name_f]-something (i.e. [name_f]Annemarie[/name_f], [name_f]Annabel[/name_f]), [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] can be a nickname for [name_f]Winifred[/name_f], [name_f]Winona[/name_f], even [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f]- which are all strong, unique names that are far from being as overused as the [name_f]Ann[/name_f]-something names are.
It also has some great fictional namesakes, i.e. [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] [name_m]Banks[/name_m] (women’s rights suffragette from [name_f]Mary[/name_f] Poppins), [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] from [name_m]Tuck[/name_m] Everlasting, and, for a small child, even [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] the Pooh).

All in all, [name_f]Annie[/name_f] is cute, but not nearly as unique or memorable to me as [name_f]Winnie[/name_f].

I love [name_f]Annie[/name_f], but [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] is better. I’ve always LOVED [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] and [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]. [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] is so cute, and it sounds like the name of a kind person.

I prefer [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] - it has a little more spunk and personality (to me, personally).

Tough choice, but I think I’ll go with [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]. I’ve always loved this name and think its really cute.

[name_f]Annie[/name_f]. I’ve never really seen the appeal of [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] - it sounds kinda “whiny” to me. [name_f]Annie[/name_f] is sweet and spunky, though I prefer it as a nickname.

Definitely [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]! I love [name_f]Winnifred[/name_f]! Although I do like [name_f]Anne[/name_f]/[name_f]Anna[/name_f].

[name_f]Winnie[/name_f]! I love [name_f]Winifred[/name_f], and [name_f]Winsome[/name_f] is also lovely.

I’ve never been a fan of any of the [name_f]Ann[/name_f] names except for [name_f]Anne[/name_f] (the E makes it seem so much more finished…isn’t that what [name_f]Anne[/name_f] of [name_u]Green[/name_u] Gables said?) & [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f]. [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] is cute as a nn, but I’d choose a more formal name for the birth certificate…probably [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f].
