Annmaria?

Another thread in the forum got me thinking about a double name that I used to be in love with: [name]Ann[/name]-[name]Maria[/name], or [name]Annmaria[/name]. It seems like [name]Ann[/name]-[name]Marie[/name], [name]Anna[/name]-[name]Marie[/name], and [name]Anna[/name]-[name]Maria[/name] (and their smushed-together versions) are heard often, but never [name]Annmaria[/name]. I wonder why that is? It’s probably not a name I’d ever use anymore, but I think the variation is kind of cool and distinctive; what about you all?

Honestly, I’d use [name]Annemarie[/name] or [name]Annamaria[/name], but [name]Annmaria[/name] just sounds a bit off to me. I’m not exactly sure why. Frankly, I’ve never heard this name on a person (other than a first-middle combination of [name]Anne[/name] [name]Marie[/name] one time), so I find [name]Annemarie[/name] or [name]Annamaria[/name] distinctive enough anyway.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with [name]Annmaria[/name] though. It just sounds a bit off to my ears.

I prefer [name]Marianne[/name]. That’s probably my favourite of the [name]Mary[/name]+[name]Anne[/name] combination variations.

I like it! I have never heard it before, but I actually like it better than the alternatives you mentioned.

hmm I kinda like it. I think the only kinda smoosh name I really like is [name]May[/name]-[name]Belle[/name]. It reminds me of [name]Bridge[/name] to Terbithia, which I like. But i’d never use a combo name because I like more unique names i’d say. but not completely obscure ones.
