We are having another boy, we have a son [name_m]Maximilian[/name_m] [name_u]Arthur[/name_u]. He almost always goes by [name_u]Max[/name_u], our surname is [name_m]Fisher[/name_m].
What boys names would you say go well with [name_m]Fisher[/name_m]. Ideally not a name starting with ‘A’ as both parents have A names. I am having a wobble, our favourite name is [name_m]Casper[/name_m] but my family don’t really like it or my friends. It was also my favourite for our first son.
But I don’t know if if looks strange we the same er ending [name_m]Casper[/name_m] [name_m]Fisher[/name_m], it is also quite unknown in the UK ranking around 250 mark and I worry when we have given our first son a popular name.
Some other names I like but wont be using
[name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] - too biblical but like the softness
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] - too many, don’t like [name_u]Theo[/name_u]
[name_m]Alfred[/name_m] - like [name_m]Alf[/name_m], don’t like [name_u]Alfie[/name_u]
[name_m]Ralph[/name_m] - difficult to say with our surname?
[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] - like [name_m]Seb[/name_m] not sure on the whole name
It ranks 210 in the UK now I’ve met two little Caspers - no one seems to find it strange when they introduced themselves. I think [name_m]Casper[/name_m] [name_m]Fisher[/name_m] sounds fine!
I really like [name_m]Casper[/name_m] and [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] from your list. [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] is my favourite nickname for [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], if you wanted a different short form for it. [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] is more popular and is probably more expected with [name_u]Max[/name_u], if he’s never known as [name_m]Maximilian[/name_m]. I have however, met a couple of little Caspers that only ever got positive reactions to their names. One of which went by their nickname [name_u]Cass[/name_u], which might feel more familiar?
I think [name_m]Casper[/name_m] [name_m]Fisher[/name_m] is fine – not ideal, but also not enough to warrant a ‘why would his parents do that!’ kind of reaction. I’m not in the UK, so can’t speak to the popularity. You’ve probably already considered alternatives to [name_m]Casper[/name_m], but would [name_m]Caspian[/name_m], [name_m]Cassian[/name_m], or [name_m]Cassius[/name_m] appeal?
[name_m]Casper[/name_m] is cute! It really comes down to what you like compared to family/friends.

I think you should choose the name you love most and not base the decision on what your family approves of or your friends like - they’re not giving birth to your baby. [name_m]Casper[/name_m] [name_m]Fisher[/name_m] is lovely and goes beautifully with [name_u]Max[/name_u]. Use [name_m]Casper[/name_m]! 🩶
I don’t love the flow of [name_m]Casper[/name_m] [name_m]Fisher[/name_m]. I agree that the -er ending is a bit much when paired. I don’t hate [name_m]Casper[/name_m] on its own though.
