Another one bites the dust.

First the [name_m]Beckham[/name_m]'s used [name_u]Harper[/name_u], then [name_f]Kourtney[/name_f] Kardashian used [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] and now I think I am going to take [name_u]Seren[/name_u] off the list thanks to the Syria. It’s all over the news that the toxic nerve gas that was used was Sarin gas. Now that’s all I can think of when I look at the name [name_u]Seren[/name_u].

Sigh, another one bites the dust.
It is at least great that you recognized this association before hand

[name_u]Seren[/name_u] sound s very different to Sarin to me but I suppose your association isn’t a nice one. Personally I love the name [name_u]Penny[/name_u], with a view to naming my daughter [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] to get to it. As I don’t follow any celebrities, what some woman on the telly names her baby is of little concern to me. If you like those names, why not go for them? I sometimes think, and I am guilty of this myself, that people love the obscurity or rarity of a name rather than the name itself.

I have been put off [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] by the Kardashian connection. It is not so much how popular it may become, it is more that it will have a certain vibe. But in the main I agree, if you love a name use it.

Oh no, [name_u]Seren[/name_u] is beautiful! (and it has the most adorable nickname [name_f]Wren[/name_f]/[name_u]Ren[/name_u], how sweet is that?!) Sarin gas doesn’t look like it really, and is pronounced the same at all (although my accent may be slightly different to yours if you are American). If I sound slightly desperate for you to keep it on the list, it’s because I can’t, and I want someone else to use it for me. So no pressure

[name_u]Seren[/name_u] and Sarin is pronounced completely different. [name_u]Seren[/name_u] is a very beautiful welsh name and i don’t think Sarin gas at all!

[name_u]Seren[/name_u] and Sarin are pronounced the same to be. SARE-in.

I don’t think the association will stick around for a long time but it’s better for you to have made the association now!

I would drop it too. [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Sela[/name_f]?

[name_u]Harper[/name_u] is popular enough to where people will have their own associations with the name, but I will give a list of alternatives:

[name_u]Harper[/name_u]:

[name_u]Fifer[/name_u]/[name_u]Fife[/name_u]
[name_u]Piper[/name_u]
[name_u]Juniper[/name_u]
[name_u]Vesper[/name_u]
[name_f]September[/name_f]

And [name_m]Prosper[/name_m], though it is a boys name (I love it!)

[name_f]Penelope[/name_f]:

[name_f]Perpetua[/name_f]
[name_f]Pacifica[/name_f]
[name_f]Phillipa[/name_f]

[name_u]Seren[/name_u]:

[name_f]Serena[/name_f]
[name_f]Zaira[/name_f]

Well [name_u]Seren[/name_u] is pretty close to [name_f]Serene[/name_f] or [name_f]Serena[/name_f]! Hopefully that puts you in a state of serenity…

I will never shy away from puns.
