Thanks for all your help lovelies! We’ve decided that our twin girls’ first names will be Violet and Penelope! ”
I really like [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] together, they sound really nice!
I think my favourites are [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] and either [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_f]Tess[/name_f] or [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Teresa[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u].
Which are your favourite first names? I would try and have that clear before muddying the water with middle names that will hardly ever be used.
It seems you really love [name_f]Violet[/name_f], so that should be one of your first name choices. And for the other twin, your other favourite name, paying no attention to whether it goes well with [name_f]Violet[/name_f] or not, or how it lines up with the middle names! Once you have your first names, it will be easier to narrow the field!
Between us, these are our favourite first names. We’ve narrowed them down from a longer list. We had our first names picked out but one of them didn’t sound right with our surname. It’s not been easy finding another name we love just as much separately and together with the other first name/middles.
Middle names are just as important to us. They are first name options we loved but couldn’t use. We decided to use honor names as middles so it’s been fitting names we love around them and that works as a whole too.
I wish it was just as easy as not worrying about other things but it isn’t. I don’t want a jumbled up sounding name for my daughters l. If it was that easy then we’d have been sorted months ago. This has been the way that works for us. We’ve gotten closer to choosing the right name by doing this than we have in months.
I honestly love all these names so opinions about what sounds/works best to narrow them down is what would be helpful to us right now.
My favorite pairings:
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] & [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] [name_f]Teresa[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] or [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] [name_f]Teresa[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f] (I love both and can’t decide)
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Tess[/name_f] & [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]
I couldn’t wrap my mind around any name but [name_f]Violet[/name_f] for twin A. Good luck!
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_f]Tess[/name_f] are my favorites.
My favorite first name pairings are:
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] & [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] (it seems like you really love both of these and they sound great together! Also love [name_f]Letty[/name_f] and [name_f]Cece[/name_f] together.)
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] & [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] (this sounds darling!)
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] & [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] (I adore [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] especially)
[name_m]Favorite[/name_m] pairings with middles from your list:
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Tess[/name_f] & [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Tess[/name_f] & [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] & [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] [name_f]Teresa[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Tess[/name_f] & [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Tess[/name_f] & [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] & [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_f]Tess[/name_f]
(P.S. I think the T’s in “[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Teresa[/name_f]” kind of run together, so I might avoid that one.)
Best of luck!
My favourites are [name_f]Violet[/name_f] “[name_f]Letty[/name_f]” [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Tess[/name_f] and [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] “[name_f]Cece[/name_f]” [name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]
or
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f] “[name_f]Maggie[/name_f]” [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_f]Tess[/name_f]
Good luck!
I would choose [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Teresa[/name_f] and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]”
Good luck!
I love [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] together - I think my favourites are [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] and [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] [name_f]Teresa[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u].
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Tess[/name_f] and [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Tess[/name_f] and [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] make for a simply stunning twinset
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] and [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_f]Tess[/name_f]
And I totally get t about the multiple posts thing… Sometimes when you have an idea, you need feedback rightbat that moment
Haha… You’ve helped us so much that you should get a honor name thrown in there really. Thank you, sincerely! ”
Thank you ” Getting this sorted has just been so stuck in my head the past two weeks. I’m off work now and on my own most days so I just need someone to help me lol.
I’ve tried to do the first name thing so much too. We have a difficult surname to work with that as well as Teresa being a bit tricky to work around. it just leads to more disappointment because we get attached and can’t use it. I feel like I’m going round in circles doing it! We have put so names into our middles list so not to lose them entirely that we’ve now ended up with these huge lists and reasoning for 10,000 posts lol.
Thank you all for your help!
Thank you!
I absolutely love [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] and I think it’s definitely going to be used somewhere. My husband likes [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] too as well as wanting [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] to be used somewhere so it’s trying to find a balance/compromise!
The [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Teresa[/name_f] thing has been a concern of mine too. It’s so helpful hearing what others think.
[name_f]Lovely[/name_f] names! I can see why you’re having such a rough time. The following pairs stand out to me because to my ear the sounds balance each other well. As a twin myself, I would advocate for call names that aren’t too similar sounding. However, I’m the first to admit that “too similar” is very subjective.
Best of luck to you!
My favourites are [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] and [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Teresa[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] ([name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] would be awesome). [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] definitely sound like twins to me! You can’t go wrong with the gorgeous list of names you have though.
Wow, the list is huuuge.
If you and your husband are in love with [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] ([name_f]Cecily[/name_f], possibly), [name_f]Elodie[/name_f], [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] and [name_f]Aurora[/name_f], I would stick to those. All of them are at least three syllables long, so IMHO it would be best to pair them with short second middles, [name_f]Kate[/name_f] and [name_f]Tess[/name_f] (or maybe [name_f]Terese[/name_f]). Saying that, I would cross out every name combo starting with [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f] (I’m guessing you love these names too but prefer those previously mentioned slightly more).
In this situation, the only combos left are:
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]/[name_f]Tess[/name_f]/[name_f]Terese[/name_f]
&
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]/[name_f]Tess[/name_f]/[name_f]Terese[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecily[/name_f] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]
OR
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]/[name_f]Tess[/name_f]
&
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_f]Tess[/name_f]/[name_f]Kate[/name_f]
(bold middles are the ones I think sound better with the combo)
And now the list looks a little bit more manageable. Though if you love [name_f]Willow[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] or [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] as much, maybe try to play the elimination game among the same two middles combos first. For example, from these three:
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Tess[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Terese[/name_f]
I think [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] sounds best with [name_f]Kate[/name_f]. And so on…
No matter which combos you finally choose, you can’t go wrong with any of them.
