LEE-see – basically, I love the sound but not the vibe of [name_f]Lisa[/name_f], stylistically [name_f]Lissy[/name_f] is much closer, neither is quite right. Leesi? Lisi? everything sounds more legitimate if someone else says it!

i’m sure there is at least one established spelling, probably among all the very spare and sweet scandinavian names ending in i, since the elizabeth root is so common, trying to decide on one that could reliably get you this pronunciation in american english.
Some Liisi, Lissi and Lisy / Lisi are some legitimate ones (in Finnish + Estonian, Danish and Swiss German).
I’m thinking Lisee, Lisie or Lisey could would - a bit like the end of Elise. Actually, a quick search showed that Lisey is in a book title - by Stephen King - and would be pronounced LEE-see, so that might be a good shout

I love Liesey! [name_f][/name_f] There used to be a berry on here who had an [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f] whom they called Liesey. [name_f][/name_f] Makes sense with [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f], and the spelling seems simple enough to me. [name_f][/name_f] I think [name_f]Lisey[/name_f] also makes sense but I don’t like [name_f]Lisey[/name_f] quite as much as Liesey. [name_f][/name_f] I do also like Lisi or [name_f]Liisi[/name_f], but not quite as much as Liesey, also.
