Ansel and Linus

[name_f]Do[/name_f] they go well together? My grandpa loved [name_m]Ansel[/name_m] [name_m]Adams[/name_m] pictures so I thought it’d be a fun way to honor him.

Combos would probably be [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] and [name_m]Ansel[/name_m] something (but the middles could be switched!). Any middle name ideas?

[name_m]Frederick[/name_m] is SO’s dad’s middle name.

Some potential names (variants okay):

[name_m]John[/name_m]
[name_m]William[/name_m]
[name_m]Peter[/name_m]
[name_m]Thomas[/name_m]

I really love the name [name_m]Ansel[/name_m]. I think [name_m]Ansel[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] sounds nice, I’ve always thought [name_m]John[/name_m] was so common and sort of plain for my taste. Have you considered [name_m]Ansel[/name_m] [name_m]Frederick[/name_m]?

I like [name_m]Linus[/name_m] a lot too. You don’t see it too often, but it’s not one of those crazy names that’s just too out there.

I would consider [name_m]Ansel[/name_m] [name_m]Frederick[/name_m]. I know SO really wants to use [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] for our first son so I guess it ultimately depends on whether he actually likes [name_m]Ansel[/name_m]!

I like [name_m]Ansel[/name_m], but when i see “[name_m]Ansel[/name_m] & [name_m]Linus[/name_m]” together my brain sort of jumps straight from the An to the us…which isn’t a good thing. I feel like if i knew brothers named this in real life i would accidentally call them Anus and Linsel one day.

This might be a problem with me, and odds are it’s my weirdness and no one else would have that problem.

I like [name_m]Ansel[/name_m], but don’t see the appeal of [name_m]Linus[/name_m].

I have loved [name_m]Ansel[/name_m] forever.

[name_m]Linus[/name_m], not so much. It reminds me of the cartoon (Peanuts, is it??)

I really like [name_m]Ansel[/name_m] and I think that’s a cool way to honor your dad. I’m afraid that the An…us thing would occur to me eventually, but I’m not a big fan of [name_m]Linus[/name_m] anyway.

I’d like [name_m]Ansel[/name_m] [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] best, but [name_m]Ansel[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] is cool too.

If it helps, we’d probably end up using [name_m]Linus[/name_m] first. [name_m]Linus[/name_m] and [name_m]Ansel[/name_m]?

“I like [name_m]Ansel[/name_m], but when i see “[name_m]Ansel[/name_m] & [name_m]Linus[/name_m]” together my brain sort of jumps straight from the An to the us…which isn’t a good thing. I feel like if i knew brothers named this in real life i would accidentally call them Anus and Linsel one day.”

This exact same thing happened to me when I first read the post! So you’re not alone. Something about seeing them together immediately made me see the yucky word. I’d def want to be careful w/ two brothers with those names. That said, don’t think anything wrong with the names on their own. [name_m]Ansel[/name_m] is really not my style though but I think it’s nice it has such special meaning for you.

I like both [name_m]Linus[/name_m] and [name_m]Ansel[/name_m]. They look and sound good together. [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] and [name_m]Ansel[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] would be my picks for combos. As far as the “anus” issue is concerned, how often would you be writing their names together on a page or saying their names aloud anyway?

That’s true and there’s no guarantee we’ll have two boys back-to-back so it’d probably be something like [name_m]Linus[/name_m], [name_u]Josie[/name_u], and [name_m]Ansel[/name_m].

Sorry, but I had the same reaction as other berries, great names but that was the first thing I thought of when I saw them together. I think I like [name_m]Linus[/name_m] a touch more than [name_m]Ansel[/name_m]. [name_m]Linus[/name_m] makes me think of [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] [name_m]Ford[/name_m]'s character in the movie [name_f]Sabrina[/name_f].
