Anthea?

I recently discovered the name [name_f]Anthea[/name_f] and really like it. Considering it for a second daughter. What does this name make you think of? [name_m]How[/name_m] do you think it sounds paired with [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] (my daughter’s name)? [name_m]How[/name_m] would you pronounce this (I like [name_f]ANN[/name_f]-thee-ah). Our other front runner is [name_f]Annette[/name_f], which I think pairs nicely as they’re both [name_m]French[/name_m]. However, I find [name_f]Annette[/name_f] a bit difficult to say for some reason. Especially when I picture saying “[name_f]Delphine[/name_f] and [name_f]Annette[/name_f]”.

[name_f]Anthea[/name_f]- yes please. It’s perfect for you. [name_f]Annette[/name_f] is nice, a bit mid century- which I love, just don’t feel it’s the vibe you are going for

I think [name_f]Anthea[/name_f] is beautiful, and I pronounce it the same way you like it pronounced - didn’t realize there was another way! I think it works well with [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] - totally distinct sound yet same vibe!

I don’t love [name_f]Annette[/name_f], and I agree with you that [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] and [name_f]Annette[/name_f] is a bit of a mouthful, but I think [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] & [name_f]Anthea[/name_f] is easy to say.

[name_f]Anthea[/name_f] 100% gets my vote over [name_f]Annette[/name_f]!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

I really like [name_f]Anthea[/name_f]! I rarely hear it. It’s very smart and pretty. It’s perfect w/[name_f]Delphine[/name_f]. I say it ‘Ahn-thee-uh’. Like say ‘ahhh’. I’m not totally sure that’s right…it could be [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-thee-uh. [name_f]Annette[/name_f] is kind of fun and refreshing too though.

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.

I love [name_f]Anthea[/name_f]!! So nice to see someone considering it!! It goes so well with [name_f]Delphine[/name_f]

[name_f]Anthea[/name_f] is beautiful and pairs well with [name_f]Delphine[/name_f]. I put the emphasis in a different place, though: ann-THEE-uh.

I’m in the minority here, but I prefer [name_f]Annette[/name_f]! [name_f]Anthea[/name_f] is nice, but I’m not a fan of [name_f]Thea[/name_f] at all, as I dislike the sound, so [name_f]Anthea[/name_f]’s not my cup of tea.

[name_f]Anthea[/name_f] is lovely with [name_f]Delphine[/name_f]! I pronounce it the way you said. There was an [name_f]Anthea[/name_f] in my school who was a few years older than me, she was really pretty and I loved that her name was so different!
