I’ve recently been loving the name [name]Antonia[/name]… What do you think about it? I’m not expecting of anything, but what would you think if you met a little girl named [name]Antonia[/name] who had a sister named [name]Giovanna[/name]/[name]Giavanna[/name]? Is this too “Italian”?
The only downside to [name]Antonia[/name] is the possible nickname of [name]Toni[/name]. I hate that nicknames on girls! Ant or [name]Nia[/name] could be alternative mns though.
To address the other question, I think [name]Antonia[/name] and [name]Giavanna[/name] work splendidly together in a sibset. It’s a bit Italian, but it’s still gorgeous. I like the [name]Giavanna[/name] spelling, so it can be shortened to [name]Gia[/name] if she likes, which is likely going to be her nn if it’s not [name]Vanna[/name].
I love [name]Antonia[/name]! [name]Antonia[/name] feels very pioneer to me because of My [name]Antonia[/name] so I don’t see it as that Italian. I think it flows well with [name]Giovanna[/name]
Oh I love the names together, so perfect. [name]Both[/name] are recognised names, but underused too.
They are beautiful together but yes they are very Italian. I dont see it as a problem though!
I agree, they work well together and they do sound Italian, but use them anyway!
I love [name]Antonia[/name], I think it’s an underrated name. My sister and I have names that are Italian in origin and no-one’s ever commented on it.
I love those two names together! [name]Both[/name] are feminine, pretty and Italian (but there’s nothing wrong with that!)
I also think of [name]Willa[/name] Cather’s My [name]Antonia[/name], so it’s historical/pioneery to me, too. With [name]Giavanna[/name], its Italian roots come out, but I don’t think that’s a downside…
I love the name [name]Antonia[/name] and can’t understand why the berries don’t like it more! It’s distinctive and gorgeous, similar to but much more unusual than [name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Georgia[/name]. A personal fave!
I think [name]Antonia[/name] is beautiful! If I met sisters named [name]Antonia[/name] and [name]Giovanna[/name], I’d definitely expect them to be Italian (either of Italian descent or actually from [name]Italy[/name]). I definitely prefer [name]Antonia[/name] to [name]Giovanna[/name], though, and I think it’s more versatile… as in, it can go easily with different styles and backgrounds of names, whereas [name]Giovanna[/name] is kind of locked in to being Italian.
[name]Antonia[/name]'s so pretty; I’m always excited to see it!
I like [name]Antonia[/name] a lot, but slightly prefer [name]Antoinette[/name]. It just sounds more feminine to me.
However, [name]Antonia[/name] is gorgeous; spunky and classic. [name]Sugar[/name] and spice, and all that.
Good luck!
I’m so happy to hear that the general opinion is positive! I actually am Italian, so that connection doesn’t matter that much to me. I was just wondering if people would automatically think about that.
[name]Antonia[/name] is Latin. [name]Love[/name] it. But not sure if the correct pronunciation is [name]AnTONia[/name] or [name]AntoNIA[/name]. [name]Love[/name] it either way.
I love [name]Antonia[/name]. And yes, It sounds so italian but I think that’s not a problem.
[name]Antonia[/name] is a lovely name, strong and classic. With [name]Giovanna[/name], it definitely sounds Italian.
I adore [name]Antonia[/name]. It’s so sleek and elegant, with a dash of spunk for good measure. Use it, by all means.
Oh the name [name_f]Antonia[/name_f] is lovely and it flows beautifully with [name_f]Giavanna[/name_f]. It doesn’t sound Italian. I love the name [name_f]Antonia[/name_f].
