I’ve started Provera to induce a period and then I will start Clomid. Looking for any advice or just stories about your experience using Clomid. Really hoping this works for us!
I used Clomid as part of the fertility treatments we used to conceive our LO. It took a few tries for us to find what dosage worked best for me. I was excited to start it thinking that would be our magic pill, but we ended up needing to use ovidrel to make me ovulate too. I was diagnosed with PCOS so I would naturally make lots of eggs that wouldn’t release. The Climid just helped to mature a couple of them and the shot made them release. Not sure if that’s at all like you. This regime also made my cycles shorter so we had more tries since I was very irregular before. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps and good luck!
I also have PCOS and extremely irregular cycles. Currently on CD 95 and my previous cycle was 119 days. She’s started me on Provera, doing a pelvic ultrasound, and then I start Clomid. She hasn’t mentioned using anything else yet, I think she wants to start with Clomid and see where that goes. We tried Femara last year and it did nothing for me. Thank you for taking the time to answer!
I frequent another site that’s more like a forum and has a large proportion of women that have gone through (or still are) infertility. This is from their newbie blog about taking clomid. Might sound a bit scary, but I figure these women have been in the trenches and it is something to look out for. Especially cysts and multiples.

In case I depressed you, here are some success stories
I took Clomid for one cycle, and became pregnant with my daughter two months later! I must mention I did not take it again for fear of multiples.
Thank you ottertails - looking into those other sites right now!
Yes. It was miserable. I did not tolerate it well at all. After one Clomid cycle, we swapped to Letrozole which was way easier on my body.
I did 2 rounds of Clomid before moving onto injectable fertility drugs. I also did not tolerate Clomid well. I gained about 10 lbs in 2 months and was very moody (not my normal). My cousin used it though, plus a shot to help her ovulate, and had no side effects like mine.
[name_m]Just[/name_m] keep in mind through the process every body and pregnancy is different. [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t be hard on yourself, try to relax, and take care of yourself. Good luck to you!
Another clomid newbie here… when did you ladies start to experience side effects? I took my last pill 3 days ago with zero issues, but I’m getting hot flashes and I’m pretty positive I couldn’t pass a sobriety test due to dizziness today :/.
I’m taking Clomid CD 3-7 - I finished my last dose on Friday. The only issue I had was a warm flushed feeling in my face, mostly my cheeks and ears. I’m worried that the absence of side effects means the dosage isn’t right. I know it’s silly to want the side effects but at this point I just want the Clomid to work!
I tried doing a bit of research before coming here and the forum introductory on WebMD said that a lot of times the Clomid side effects start after you are done with the pills and continue through the cycle…
I did read a few threads about that as well but it really seems odd to me. I wouldn’t expect the drug to remain in your system very long… Oh well, I’m just going to keep thinking positive!
